Vaginal Fantasy Book Club discussion

As soon as Sully was described I immediately thought of George Clooney - I think it was the comment about his hair being "sprinkled with silver." Now that I'm farther in and am getting to know more about Sully I'm seeing him more along the lines of Robert Downey Jr..

For Chaz I'm seeing Karen Gillan (Amy Pond).

I don't generally cast real people for books, but I love the idea of Robert Downey Jr. as Sully. The loveable, arrogant asshole seems to be a part he plays well. xP

Karen Gillan is quite a bit younger looking than what I imagined Chaz to be, though.

I'm half way through the book and I feel like I'm only able to see Chaz the way Ren does. I actually haven't put a face to her. If I was at gun point I'd prolly say Rachel Nichols.

Sully...no idea.
Although I did have a laugh. Every time I read a Drogue, I can't help imagining Gune from Titan A.E. No idea why!

See, that made me think of Robert Beltran - Chakotay from Voyager. But I'm not that far in, things may change...

I generally dont cast people, from the description of the lead guy I thought i would be imagining harrison ford/han solo but I havnt been, I have images in my mind of the way chas and sully look. I do like robert downey jr as sully. Im not very far into the book yet so will see what else comes to me the more i read!

Now that I'm a bit further in I'm finding I'm picturing this every time someone says "Sully"...



It doesn't help that Ren is described as having blue hair. I'm getting very muddled! I do like this book but it is a little hard to take seriously when all I can see is a grinning blue monster. :D

ok so this just popped into my head but what about Tom Hiddleston(loki from Thor and the Avengers) for sully? I didn't imagine him as the stereotypical hero, ya know tall dark and handsome. I thought of him as more lithe but strong. all you need to do is put a little grey in his hair and i think it would be perfect lol

for Chaz i was thinking Amanda Righetti. She plays Van Pelt in the mentalist and was in the Friday the 13th remake as Jared Padelecki's sister.

But the one i can't imagine is Ren. Its hard because Chaz says that Dorsie is torn between wanting to adopt him or mate with him, so i have to imagine that he would be slightly feminie looking or at least "pretty" not "sexy" or "hot"

I don't normally cast anyone when I'm reading, and I didn't think of anyone while reading Gabriel's Ghost.

However, while I was reading Grimspace, I kept casting Dystin Johnson (Norma in Shameless U.K.) as Dina. Which is in NO way even close to the characters physical description. I've just finished the second book Wanderlust and I have finally shaken this mental image of Dina and see her as the author describes her.

OK, I'm thinking that if I were the casting director, I'd go after Sam Worthington (Avatar) and Anna Torv (Fringe). Just realized they're both Australians. Funny.

Ooh yes, I can totally see where you're coming from there. I haven't seen much Farscape but I don't think Ren is quite as...sensual as Zhaan. ;-)

I wasn't really picturing anyone to begin with, I still can't with Chaz, but as soon as the Rossetti penny dropped Sully just had to be Aidan Turner.

I couldn't quite get into it before that but I have a bit of a Rossetti obsession so that really clicked for me and now I can't put it down!

Sully was closer your Aiden Turner pic in my mind too - but I don't cast characters with real people in my mind. My image was just close :)

Claudia Black as Chaz, Matthew Bomer as Sully (needs to be taller though), and Ren is a tough call because he's younger then Sully but much taller as a Stol. So lets say Nathan Fillion as Ren.

I totally see Gerard Butler as sully and Lena Heady as Chaz

I don't know which covers you got on your copies, but I was impressed with mine and (mostly Ren's hair is too short) ended up casting those on the cover in my head. Odd because usually I am the one with my actors all lined up like ducks!

I noticed a lot of people immediately thought of Sully from Monsters, Inc. but the first Sully that came to mind for me, was Sully from Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Am I the only one who thought of him? I mean, I don't know that I would cast him, but the name Sully brought him to mind for me. Just throwing that out there.
