The Story Thus Far: We find out Hayden controls the Sullivan estate. We find out that Jukor are unaffected by a Ragkiril and that Ragkiril is a rare and random genetic mutation in humans. We meet Ilsa who obviously has a think for Sully, he evades it by introducing Chaz as his wife. Sister Berri joins the crew and we find out that Eng's soul-stealers were able to shape shifters.

I don't really have a whole lot to say about these chapters, lol.

I'm curious about Ilsa - if she is involved with planting the worm, did she do it because she was jealous or is it just coincidence that she's involved?

Tiffany Scott (tjscott978) | 16 comments I'm also curious about Ilsa's possible involvement with the sabotage of the Baru Karn. I have the feeling that she may not have been fully aware of what she was doing. She seems to be more of someone that is interested in Sully and would do what she could to get his attention

I'm also intrigued by the connection Sully has with the Englarian church.
He was a monk for 8 years, his chosen name was Sudral, the cape that incapacitates the soul-stealer and his ship is named after the sword that is able to decapitate the soul-stealers.
It seems like Sully has been playing the long game.

I'm also a little frustrated with Sully. I understand that he doesn't want to scare Chaz away with all that he is capable of, but it seems at every turn he is forced to reveal more of himself to her. I think he needs to grow a pair and just have a long talk with her about his past.
Love can only go so far if you don't think you can trust the person you're with. I have a feeling that pretty soon they're going to be in a situation that is going to rock Chaz to the core and she's going to have a hard time forgiving him.

Jes (tiaama) | 110 comments Ilsa doesn't seem vindicitve. Until the moment Chaz is introduced she seems very much so under the impression that her and Sully are at least casually dating. I thought it was a bit slimy of him to tell her they were married to get out of it...
The implications of his monkhood and all the chosen names seem to point to him trying to incapacitate his powers... but I speculate as to why. Fear? Fear of rejection of society? He just hates himself? Because he was brainwashed by religious ninnies?
I find Sister Berri very suspicious. Can't help it. Maybe its because there are now way too many monks running around and going on and off the ship? When they already know they are having problems with a leak!
