THE RULES - YOU MUST READ BEFORE YOU POST

Please make sure you've read the rules before you post on any of the Chaos Reading threads. There aren't very many rules, but the ones that are here are important.
-------------------
THE RULES
1) AUTHORS MUST NOT post promotional material about their book/s anywhere else but in the promotions folder. The same applies to publishers, bloggers, and anyone else with something to promote. Spamming the other threads with mentions of your own work will not be tolerated. These posts will be deleted and so might you!
2) Whenever you mention a book, please always include the link to the GR book entry in your post. Just click "add book/author" above the comment box. If you want to add a link to the book cover as well as the title that's fine, but they don't always show up on mobile devices. So please don't use the cover link by itself.
2a) Sometimes book title links can be tricky to post using one of the apps instead of posting from the GR site. There are lots of different apps out there, and they are changing all the time. Please find out how it works for the particular app that you are using.
2b) Providing help to people using the GoodReads site is not the job of Chaos Reading members or their Moderator. Tech support is the job of GoodReads staff - either via the GoodReads Feedback Group or by emailing GoodReads' paid tech support staff. If you want to post a question on GR functions, you can do so in the Rules & Instructions folder, but please remember that any response you get is simply that person doing you a favour - it's not their responsibility.
3) If your post contains spoilers, even very mild ones, please use the hidden spoiler feature to hide these comments. You can find the code right above the comment box where it says "some html is ok". If you start a thread specifically to discuss a book with spoilers included, please add the word, "SPOILERS" (like this, in all caps) to the title of the thread.
4a) These are International Waters, so you can't assume that everyone lives where you do. Make your posts something that will be interesting to everyone, by explaining anything that is country-specific. If you're telling us about where you live, don't use local abbreviations. We want to know about what it's like where you are, so explain it to us! Don't assume that people already know. Asking questions about other members' cultures is encouraged - making assumptions is not.
4b) If your giveaway is only open to one country - tell people up front. If you want to post a link to a film - don't use a link to a local service like Netflix.
5) Please don't verbally attack other group members. And try not to physically attack them either! A bit of snark and banter is fine in the right context, but trolling and/or personal attacks are not okay.
---------------
If your post breaks these rules, your posts will be removed. The moderator also reserves the right to remove and block any member who breaks these rules at their discretion.
It is always a good idea to skim through the posts that are already up if you want to get an idea of what is okay to post. If you do have any questions about the rules though, feel free to message Ruby.
