It has "family, friendship and love", three topics beloved by Printz committee (I'm guessing here). Add to that a starred review and a new york times review and Boy21 should be a shoo-in. But can he make this shot for gold?

I really liked the book but thought the ending was a little unbelievable. Loved that the story had a cast of diverse characters. Thought it was good and I hope the committee will consider it.
I loved this one. I think Quick is a wonderful writer. his stories have so much heart and the characters and emotions are so well done. The ending is a bit of a letdown in the realism department though.
I picked up an ARC of this one back at NCTE and I fell in love with it. More importantly, my students (especially my boys) can't get enough of it.
I loved Boy 21 and this year I think it has a good chance at an honor. Quick did an excellent job of letting the reader grasp inner workings of the neighborhood and it added so much to the story.
