We will be reading and discussing Summer Days starting tuesday May 28th! We would love it if you would join in! To get the discussion started...

♥Will you be reading Summer Days and joing the discussion this month?

♥Have you read any of the previous Fool's Gold books? (each book reads as a stand alone so you can read Summer Days without having read any of the previous books!)

♥IF so, what is your favorite thing about Fool's Gold...the town and the characters.

♥Have you been looking forward to this book?

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments I am in!! I was hoping this June Group Read was for Summer Days!

♥Will you be reading Summer Days and joing the discussion this month? Yes, I will be joining. I have read it. Love it a lot!!

♥Have you read any of the previous Fool's Gold books? (each book reads as a stand alone so you can read Summer Days without having read any of the previous books!) I read them all, but book #2.5 Sisters of the Bride. I need to get that one. I plan to soon.

♥IF so, what is your favorite thing about Fool's Gold...the town and the characters. My favorite thing about Fool's Gold is the town. I love how they help each other out. I think we could all use that. I have a disabled daughter, who is 12. She has been learning that she is different from others her age & has been acting out. I wonder what Mayor Marsha would tell me.

♥Have you been looking forward to this book? Yes. I love Heidi & her goats especially Athena. She cracks me up. How she can get out of every lock. Sounds like he has some Siberian Husky in her! Our huskies can open our screen doors! (I am not kidding you!)

Melissa, I agree about the town! It would be nice to have a community that supported the individuals and could learn on eachother! Somewhere there is a town out there like that...now if only it was filled with all the hotties that Fool's Gold is I would be there in a heart beat! (good thing the boyfriend doesn't read this! lol)

Shannon Horton | 2 comments I've read Summer Days and started it for a 2nd time! I've read all the Fool's Gold books. While the town sounds like one of the best places to live its the people of the town that also add to the over all greatness. Yes, I've been looking forward to it and can hardly wait for the next one...

Hannah | 468 comments *sniffle* I want to read this but I can't afford it at the moment(stupid medical bills!), but as soon as I can, I will.

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments Shell- I would love to be able to lend on the town's people for help. We are having so much problems with our daughter. We have 3 therapists in our home, but 1 has been out for about 4 weeks or more. Long story. Plus add in Ashleigh is to go to a new school so she is acting out. Now we have the choice that she can stay at her old school, but we don't know what to do. Ash says stay, then go. She is mad at the world & not listening. Noah is upset, too.

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments Shannon- I can not wait for the next one either. I have started to count down the days! I plan to read Summer Nights on my side deck. I am thinking maybe later in the day since my side deck over looks the city. I would love to see the city lights!

Kendra (kaos1385) | 19 comments ♥Will you be reading Summer Days and joining the discussion this month? Of course :D

♥Have you read any of the previous Fool's Gold books? (each book reads as a stand alone so you can read Summer Days without having read any of the previous books!) I've read all of them :D

♥IF so, what is your favorite thing about Fool's Gold...the town and the characters. I love that Susan posts stories about the characters between the books. You grow to care for the characters of the town so much that it's nice to be able to read about them even when there isn't a book out. :D

♥Have you been looking forward to this book? Of course!! :D

So who has read Summer Days (Fool's Gold, #7) by Susan Mallery?

For those who have...

•Who was your favorite character?
•Funniest part of the book?
•Do you think that Heidi was letting her grandfather off the the hook a bit to easy, or do you think he was justified?
•What do you think about Rafe and his relationship with his siblings?

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments •Who was your favorite character? Heidi
•Funniest part of the book? When May got an elephant. Why an elephant?
•Do you think that Heidi was letting her grandfather off the the hook a bit to easy, or do you think he was justified? I think it was because of him taking her in when she was younger. He was her only family each other had. She had no one else, but him. What would had happened if her grandfather said no?
•What do you think about Rafe and his relationship with his siblings? I think Rafe's relationships with his siblings is complicated. Rafe thinks if his siblings are not making money, then they are wasting their life. I think that with Heidi in his life this will change & we saw that in Summer Days how he went to his sister & asked her to give him.

Melissa, I think the hardest time I had with the book was Heidi and her Grandfather...I totally agree about him taking her in, and it was obvious he loved her. He also had noble reasons for doing what he did...however he was playing a dangerous game with something that Heidi truly loved, and then when he was so cavalier about dating the one person that essentially held their fate in their hands...I don't know. I know it ended well, it just rubbed me wrong how he acted about it I guess!

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments I agree! What would have happen if Glen messed up with May? Then what? He would had screwed Heidi a second time. It made me mad that he did this without thinking what would this to do Heidi, my granddaughter. Glen did not even owe the land. The balls of some people! It rubbed me the wrong way, too. I liked Heidi, but Glen I was not sure of. He was a flirt & at his age! Too funny!

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments I am still thinking why May got an elephant. I don't think I would ever want one. I think they would be hard to take care of. What do you think?

The only thing I can think of with an elephant is all that poop!!! LOL!

message 17: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments Where would they put it all? Recycle it for the garden? Yuck! lol. I was teasing Noah the other day when he got into my paint for my cabinet that he was going to help out with the horses poop. He said "no, Mom, I won't do it again!" He wasted so much of my paint that I needed. I had it in a container since the regular can rusted & I could not use it anymore.

hahahaha, my daughter won't even pick up the dog poop without a big fuss!

message 19: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (cx3ane) | 85 comments We don't have the horses. They are where Ashleigh goes riding on Thursday nights. I have issues with that, too. Sometimes Noah does it without an issue, but other times there is.
