I discovered this tumblr today and it is wonderful. It's an ongoing pictorial history of what readers are reading on the NYC subway. The blogger describes it as a "visual library." When I was in NYC visiting Patty and Jean-Paul I found myself always looking at the readers while on the subway and moving this way or that until I could see what they were reading. These photos are quite intimate and illuminating: people lost in the books they are reading, tuning out the subway noise, passing their time in the best way possible. Enjoy.
