Definitely a strong contender, I felt like I was right there in the house with them, noticing all the little worn and broken stuff. I loved the choice of pov from the father's perspective.
I liked it too! Don't know that I have much profound to say about it, but it was an interesting look at an extreme version of child-chooses-future-that-parents-disapprove-of.
