Annika What are you reading? Do you have any trips planned this summer?

Mary | 236 comments I'm being slow on every type of reading material I like to keep up on, including my book, Defending Jacob. We just had a week of "staycation," and worked on accomplishing projects around the house plus watched a lot of tennis (French Open). Q has a few more vacation days to take, but those will probably be spent around the house, too.

Caroline (caro7) I just started A Prayer for Owen Meany last night. So far so good. I also finished Hannah's Dream by Diane Hammond last night. FINALLY. Didn't care for it. I don't think I've ever read such a maudlin story. I just rolled my eyes throughout.

We already took our summer trip. We went to Falmouth, on Cape Cod, right after my oldest got out of school, for just a few days. It was a joint trip with some dear friends of ours. It was nice, but I'm glad we only were there for two days because it was too cold for the beach, and there's only so much to do there when you have two young children. Our friends were staying for a week (in a studio motel room), and I got the sense they regretted making their stay that long, especially because their children are 2.5 and 6 months.

Gretchen (gkonkler5) Still working through The Passage. WILL FINISH THIS WEEK IF IT KILLS ME!!!

Loving it but guess just busy.

No major travel plans. Day trips and weekend trips. Maybe get a trip into Yellowstone or Glacier National. Or just settle for camping on Casper Mountain.

Did go to the Chugwater Chili Cookoff this weekend. Took a nice ride home, the backway.

Leslie | 95 comments Just finished Fever, the second in a YA trilogy. It's pretty messed up for a YA book. Nothing super great about it but I wanted something lighter. I've been on a ww2 kick after watching Band of Brothers. I read a memoir by two of the BOB soldiers and am hoping some books will come in at the library. A friend recommended some and I looked some up. Some are just on the Holocaust which has always been something I've read many books on. Some will be fiction and some non including the actual BOB book which I never read! But until any of these come in, I'm doing a re-read of, "Outside Valentine," by Liza Ward. Someone on our original board, Stacy or Annika maybe got me to read it years ago and I thought I'd see if it's as good as I remember. No trips planned as of yet.

Liz Just finished Come Home which was pretty good. Next up is either The Book of Lost Fragrances or The Magician King.

Getting ready to leave on Thurs. on a trip up to WA. Our EGA Region is having their Regional Seminar in Tacoma, my home town, so of course I just have to go. Then I'll be visiting friend & relatives up there. I always love going up there, but one of these days I'd really like to take another trip somewhere new & exciting.

Theresa The Flight of Gemma Hardy has started off well. I'm not sure yet about my own summer flights. I have a research trip or two to squeeze in so I don't know if there will be an actual vacation trip as well.

I remember really liking Outside Valentine! I wonder if it's as good as the first time.
