I really thought this book was fun, and am definitely booktalking it, but am not sold on its literary value. Does anyone want to share arguments for it?

Danielle (drdspice) | 20 comments I thought it was a fresh take on a fairy take with some strong female characters. Not as literary as a few on the list, but compared to a lot of things that were nominated last year, I feel there's some merit.

Ivy | 2 comments Definitely not a literary masterpiece, but a fun read. I agree about the strong female characters and I think this is an important thing for young women to see.

This book is much better than some of the books we considered last year. But I think this year's field is much stronger (from our viewpoint) and while "Cinder" is good, I don't think it really meets the literary requirement.

Jayanne | 6 comments I'd agree, while I really enjoyed the story it doesn't meet the literary requirement.

Emily (e_dagg) Much better than most titles in this genre, it flew off the shelves last summer. All I needed was a one-line booktalk. Not quite literacy enough for Printz, maybe a Best Book?
