Bridget I was honestly devestated by Davys death i really really liked his character.
what did u think about it?
about how he died?
about who did it?
yout reactions?

Nannah I think I actually screamed. And then started sobbing. And then I had to make myself some tea.

I loved Davy so much!

Bridget i know right and i cant believe that Mayor Prentiss did it

Ber Davy grew on me so much in this book... I cried I'll admit

Abby Oh gosh, i couldnt breathe when Davy died!! Im still shocked Todd didnt go ballistic and kill the mayor right there!

Sum I honestly flung the book away from me like it carried a disease when I read that part. No joke.

Same! I had really liked Davy's character.

Taylor davy was actually getting better as the book went on and he was so unloved by his father :( i had to read that part again because i couldn't believe what had just happened!

Gillian I was more upset about Todd not showing him that he was his friend too, that he did care for Davy in some way. Instead Davy died thinking he was nothing.

ℂᖺαᖇᒪἷ℮ ⊰1017 &Tardis⊱ I was very upset! I screamed a bit! (I am an emotional reader)

Anastasia I was upset by it, but not that much because it was really predictable. I thought Davy might shoot the Mayor instead, but once Todd threatened Davy it was obvious what was going to happen.

Poor Davy. He deserved better.

I think he must have known that Todd cared though, since he was so distraught and furious about it and it would've been all over his Noise.

Uditi When I was reading that part where Todd was pointing the rifle to him, I wasn't initally worried that Davy would die becuase I knew that Todd wouldn't kill but the way Davy had changed and was hurt by the thought that the people who were close to him would actually threaten to kill him was really upsetting for me.

Because i wan't worried that Todd would kill Davy it came as a real shock to me that the Mayor - his own FATHER - killed him.

I was more schocked than anything else for a long time and then it was really sad that he died asking for forgiveness.

Badgerlord That was the point when I got really concerned about the mayor. He was bringing a whole new level of crazy. Best stand off ever.

Ethan I as even startign to like davy, I mean, he was getting along with todd, and I thought that he had hope... but then he DIED!!!! I hate that so many of my favorite characters die.

Nelly I actually just cried for hours after that, it was just so heartbreaking!

I thought Davy was such a little prick in the first book... but I came to see, he was only ever trying to impress his dad - the very man who ended up KILLING HIM!

I was actually so sad, I cried my eyes out :( Maybe if Davy lived... he would have gone onto Todd's side. I'm so sad he died :(

Mia Weir Davy will always be in my heart(even though he was a dick).

message 18: by Ann (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ann I don't think I've ever hated a character so much but had my opinion changed to such an extent as the character developed. I was actually really upset by his death, I felt like he was capable of redemption and had only ever really needed a family (like when he viewed Todd as his brother) to show him affection to bring out his good side.

I really didn't expect this much tragedy and emotion from a novel aimed at young adults! Great series which only gets better!

Liam Blok I'm not emotional but his death upset me. It just proved that the Mayor is a crazy bastard. Sorry a bought language.

Lilac Gillian wrote: "I was more upset about Todd not showing him that he was his friend too, that he did care for Davy in some way. Instead Davy died thinking he was nothing."

I didn't even think of that.

Now it's even more depressing to think about.

Good point

I was so shocked about Davy's death that I almost felt that the Mayor's reaction to it was unrealistic, but that underscores how inhuman and ballistic Prentiss is

message 23: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma I actually wasn't surprised. It was obvious the Mayor would rather Todd was his son instead of Davy. Reading that scene, I could just tell it was going to happen. I was disgusted, of course, and I liked Davy. I mean he was stupid, and he was an idiot, but it was because of how stupid he was why I liked him. I think he was harmless really, and I think he could have helped Todd out a lot.

Shelby In the beginning, I hated Davy. But throughout the book he grew on me so much! I cried when he died. But I can't say I was surprised that Prentiss was the one to kill him.
