Dark Frost discussion

Caution: do not read ahead if you haven't read this book or don't like spoilers!

I totally didn't see the whammy at the end! So we see how powerful Gwen is becoming and how she has been able to tap into people's magic. Like when she fights using Logan's memories etc. Well I sure as hell didn't see her being able to kill Preston and heal herself by sucking the magic/life outta him. Maybe I'm slow, but really I was pleasantly surprised. I knew she was bad-arse, but can't wait to see what other powers and abilities she'll come into to take down Lokie. Any opinions?

I have to agree. I did not see that coming. She pissed me off though when she was pushing everyone away. The only way she can do what she did is if she willed it. Which she did with Preston. I am just glad that Gwen finally figured out who killed her mom so now she can go get the justice that is long over due.

I have to agree aswell. I mean Gwen starts out as kind of a goody two shoes but as the books continue she gets kind of like POWERFULL. But i DID NOT SEE HER KILLING PRESTON!

I was actually presently surprised with how Gwen has progressed through this whole series! From being the way she was in Tough of Frost to the person she was in this novel had me really surprised. I have really enjoyed going into this world. Didn’t see the end of this coming though… I really really didn’t. For me to go in to this novel thinking “hey maybe Loki might be set free and Gwen will be close to dying”? Nope nope nope!! Totally had me thrown through loops! My mind was totally blown! OH! And what happened to Nott!! I got attached to the wolf and I cried… and I didn’t like how she pushed everyone away that was trying to help her when she killed Preston. Her friends and family were only trying to help. But I can’t wait to see what happens in Crimson Frost and how Gwen will defeat Loki!! I can’t wait for all of it! :D

I have learned to read the end of a book first. It's just me but let me say crimson frost was a tiny bit slow in places but had my heart all over the place.

My sister just bought the book for me. I know it has been out for a little bit so I know I am a little late on this one. lol I think that I read a part of it from the back of Dark Frost and the last couple of words got me. I was like :0 what?? hahaha

I didn't see that coming so I thought that was a nice suprise considering I was let down because I knew the entire time who Loki's champion was lol. It was kind of like out there but yet not so out there it wasn't spelled out...if that makes any sense. lol. But yeah, it was a nice surprise and really awesome. I'm thinking a little absorbtion of Loki's power might have something to do with taking him down, but it also may make her like crazy...lol maybe a little of the whole "piece of her will die with him" or something like that...or who knows, maybe it'll be complete opposite and gain control over her touching and seeing into people's past and what not.

I was partially surprised by that as well. But when I stopped and thought about it from when they said her powers would be growing. I knew it would have to be in this way and that initial scene when she touched Daphne and was able to reach in and hold some of her healing magic, I knew then that she could do more. I just hated how Estep took another forty forevers to get Gwen to remember she could even reach farther into someone with her ability like that. I mean she had to wait til she was about to die to realize I might just be able to help myself? Ugh so annoying to me on that point.
