Lynnm Question:

Can anyone recommend graphic novels/science fiction that focuses on the environment?

Thanks!

message 36: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 133 comments Ummm.... The Uglies, Pretties, Specials series by by Scott Westerfeld kinda touches on issues of the environment. They're science fiction novels.

Environment as in "green."

Could be anything: a different world, a env. superhero :-)

Something like Avatar, where there are other components of the story, but bottom line, the story makes a point about the environment.

I haven't read it yet, but this seems to fit what you're asking for:

Currently reading The Exiled Queen and the Heretic's Daughter....very different genres, I know, but I just cant read one book at a time, never have.

message 44: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie (darlingdoor) I just finished Shadow and Bone, and LOVED it. It's YA in the tradition of Graceling and the Hunger Games - a complex female heroine with a major obstacle to overcome. It's set in a fantasy world modeled on Russia. Some denizens of this world are "Grisha," and have powers (called the Small Science) that fall into one of three categories: the ability to summon an element, the ability to heal or harm, or the ability to fabricate. Really good - I gave it five stars.
