Hey, I just got into this show. I'm only two episodes in, and I've been watching it on HBO.com.
I currently am subscribed to HBO (works fine on the tv) but after watching two episodes, and going to watch my third, it says I don't have a subscription....? Anyone who knows how to fix this?

Ok, we need to revive this thread because Game of Thrones is one of the greatest shows on television right now, and it's a shame we're not having more conversations on it! Also, this thread is just for the tv show. I'm sure there are some of us who haven't read the book so don't spoil it! You may start a thread for the book under the Sci-fi/Fantasy Literature folder.
What conflicts or character/story arcs do you most look forward to in season three?
- Daenerys and her dragons. What are her chances of claiming the throne with only infant dragons? Should she be taken seriously?
- Joffrey's rule over the Iron Throne. Will details of his questionable birthright come to surface soon? What of Cercei and her incest relations?
- Sansa. Will she finally grow a vagina and become of use to her family's name?
- Robb Stark as the new king of House Stark and his marriage to Talisa.
- Jon Snow and his encounter with Ygritte and her Free Folks.
- Arya. The last time we saw her, she was still "missing," right?
- Stannis Baratheon and the weird priestess Melisandre.
- Theon Greyjoy and the Iron Islands.
- Gendry, former King Baratheon's illegitimate son.
- Tyrion Lannister. Is he good or evil?
- The White Walkers!
There are dozens of other conflicts and characters, but this is all I can list from memory. I'm mostly looking forward to the White Walkers and events that will unfold in the House of Lannister. Cercei may possibly be my favorite character. I love her because I hate her, and she's so brilliantly conniving in every definition possible. I also get a year added to my life every time Joffrey gets insulted or slapped in the face. The dialogue between Varys and Littlefinger is BRILLIANT. I love their clever tit for tat and I hope they run into each other again in the third season. Tyrion and his bodyguard Bronn are also among my favorites. I like that Tyrion struggles to find the medium between his evil sister and his own conscience. I think one of the highlights of watching GOT is that it has so many side characters that, while they may not advance the story significantly, are cleverly thought out and becomes a pleasure to watch (Jacqen H'ghar, Arya's assassin friend, being one).
The big question is, WHO ARE YOU ROOTING FOR IN THE PURSUIT OF THE THRONE?!

Kay - I will be totally with you in discussing I very soon. I always have one show I watch by myself and one I watch with my girlfriend. I just have to finish season two of the Borgias and them I'm all over Game of Thrones!
Okay, so I got to like, the fourth episode of season one, and I seriously love it! It's so amazing, the plot is awesome.
But my parents just cancelled our subscription to HBO because it cost too much... I guess I'll just wait and see if it ever gets on Netflix.

Jacqen H'ghar, Arya's assassin friend - Kay, I loved this guy, both the character and the actor! I really hope we get more of him, but I sense he'll be missing for a while.
I'm all about the White Walkers. What the hell are they?
Very interested to see Jon Snow's storyline in the next season. I always felt he was underutilized, or rather he had a dull story, until now.
Rob - finally some romance on this show. (INCEST DOES NOT COUNT.)
I adore Daenerys and the Dragons, and although I like Rob I ultimately want to see her rule.
Tyrion - he's a good guy at heart, definitely. Love him.
Someone please kill and dismember Joffrey soon. It will be as satisfying as Viserys getting bitch slapped.
And this is a little old, but it was such a bummer that Jason Momoa didn't stick around longer. I really enjoyed his character.
I've been meaning to post for a while now, I'm finally all caught up and can't wait until season three. (Haven't read the books but plan to eventually)
I wish Daenerys's dragons were ageing a little quicker, her storming King's Landing with three fully grown dragons would make for amazing tv. Dany is my favourite character, I've loved her development so far.
I want to smack Joffrey in the face everytime he comes on screen, he's quite a good villain in the 'makes me sick to the stomach' way. I think Sansa will get better, she's already beginning to understand how vunerable she is and I think all of the advice Cersei has given her has sunk in.
I love Arya, she's my favourite Stark by far. Tyrion is my favourite Lannister, he's hilarious and cunning and I think the horrible way his family has treated him over the years means that he is super tough.
It was definitely one hell of a way to end the series and I am definitely coming back for more! Other highlights for me are Cersei, Varys, Littlefinger and Jacqen. I also loved everything that happened in Qarth.

I have a question (I've finished both season 1 and 2), you know how Lady was killed by Ned, and then right when she was killed Bran woke up?
Well, I was thinking, in the first episode, they said each Dire wolf represented one of the Starks. Maybe because Lady was Sansa's, it was representing her losing the right to call herself a Stark, because that was literally RIGHT after she sided with Joffery and kind of betrayed her own sister.

Am going to marathon watch S1/S2 this weekend and next, to prepare for S3. I am so excited, it looks like this season is going to be epicness cubed!!!!!!

I can't wait until the next season. Sadly my HBO subscription has been cancelled, so I'll have to stream it or something.

I'm glad it's back on, I missed it. I'm really enjoying it. I especially like the Marjorie Tyrell (sp?) character, she's interesting and I get the feeling that she's going to give Joffrey his come uppance.
I also think that Jaime Lannister (again, sp?) is becoming a more interesting character.

Even though I figured out Daenerys's real motives in giving up her dragon to the slaver, I have been impressed with her character arc and how she's trying not to compromise her values. I gave her a total "you go, girl" yell at the end of last Sunday's episode. She is turning into a true leader/queen.

Sadly, I have not. However, they are on my radar to read. I just came to know of the books from the show. I heard they are really good.

There is only so much you can do on television with limited time. I also like to see more into the characters and get more development which you can with the books. I will definitely check them out ... I'll bump them up on my TBR list. :)

It was the first time I've been interested in Daenerys's story arc. People will probably violently disagree with this, but so far I've found her kind of dull. But that last scene was epic.
I'm more interested in what's going on in King's Landing and I think the Lannister family is the most interesting one... And Marjorie. And the Night's Watch stuff is fun, although Jon Snow tends to get on my nerves sometimes.

Cersei on the show is incredible. I have only read the books and watched Season 1 of the show and I was shocked when I saw her. They did a great job providing a character who looks innocent and sweet, but who does terrible things. In the book I only hated her - on the show I felt a little bad for her having been married to someone she didn't love.
I love Cersei too, although for the entire of the first season every time she was getting down with Jaime I couldn't help but scream at the tv "What are you doing Luce? How dare you cheat on Rachel?!"
Cookies for anyone that gets the reference XD

This might sound crazy... (and again I've read all the books so I'll mark this as a spoiler just in case!) (view spoiler)

Everyone excited for season four? I keep watching the adverts. I finally got my gf into it so have just finished rewatching. Seeing red wedding the second time had just as much impact.
"DO YOU HEAR ME?"
Ha! Whiplash, beeech!
