I've heard that Alex , who was the perfect Jace to me, and he will be forever, decided that he didn't want to do more teen's movies and he refused to role Jace :C he disapointed me so much... now we have Jaime Bower... i don't like him, althought i'm getting used to the idea, but Jace will always be Alex and Alex will alwas be Jace to me:)

Alex ain't jace cuz he's a sorry cake eater who said to.play the roll, they had to pay him more then the making of the movie would cost.... an sorry but I can't stand Alex.... he's a money hungry butt face not worthy of playing our beloved jace.

actually.. Alex turned down the role coz he thought he was too old to play Jace. He wants to focus on adult roles instead of teenage ones.

I think look-wise and attitude wise he'd make a perfect Jace but he's extremely full of himself and he's a money HOG. Very unattractive traits if you ask me:)

I feel the same. Previously, I couldn't imagine Jamie as Jace. I always thought of Alex as Jace and was pretty disappointed when I found out that Jamie got the role and Alex had declined it.
However, I think the idea of Jamie as Jace is growing on me. (Probably because of the TMI movie fanart all over the place) So I guess I'll wait for the movie and then decide. (Same goes for Simon)

That's ridiculous! He will regret it. This movie is gonna be like The Hunger Games and, if they continue, that's probably seven films (part 1 & part 2 on the last one). Jaime will be famous and Alex is gonna be thinking, "why did I turn down that role?"
It'll be Jaime getting that 10 mill over the course of these films.

You're right, I just wanted to point out that Alex will be sorry for declining this movie. The more people grossed, the more money made, the worse Alex feels.

I am actually happy he is not playing Jace. His acting is kind of going down hill and the parts he is taking now for movies are kind of.... well use the newest movie he was in for example. He's a frickin stripper.

From the very first day that I read Mortal Instruments, Alex Pettyfer has always always ALWAYS been Jace to me. When I found out last year that he turned down the role I was so frikkin shattered omfg.
I didn't really like Jamie anyway, but now I pretty much hate him coz apparently he's in a relationship with Lily Collins now, & him and his FIANCE` (not gf, FIANCE`) Bonnie Wright (who played Ginny in HP) broke up only like a few weeks ago, so I think that's dog. But idk if it's true about the relationship and ceebs finding out coz I don't like him anyway haha.

I'm just so disaapointed. If once I watch this movie, my mind starts picturing Jace as Jamie, which is sure to happen, I will cry. Coz Alex has always been Jace in my head. Always. :(

i don't think this is a rummer, i think this actually happen :C i don't like it too: people in order to sel articles and stuff like that are capapble to tell lies for it.. and sometimes those rummers end with life of some of them in the extreem cases :C that is bad

Well now he won't be ... the've casted Jaime Campbell http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2570429/ for role jace. They also gave a chance to alex to be jace but he turned down the rule >.<

I think he's getting too old to be playing teen parts, so i actually don't blame him for turning it down, even though i think he would make a great Jace.

for me was the same. I mean i also pictured Alex went i read the book and I cannot get used to the idea of having Jamie-) the problem i have with Jamie appart from not being Alex haha is that Jace is supposed to be you know: fierce AND OF COURSE SEXY!! And Jamie sadly is only one of those and sorry But that one is not sexy at least what i saw in the trailer cause I didn´t really see him being Jace wich means confident about his looks and flirty, althougth as some others say we must better give him a chance But he´d better not be as dark and somber as in the trailer at least not during the entire movie

I know that Alex made a mistake by turning down the movie but he is human you know, i guess he just felt so confident knowing that almost every fan of the series wanted him to play Jace and maybe he was taking advantage of it but again he is only human...

I saw that too, but IMDB its like wikipedia, everyone can change it, so it might be a rumor, but if is that true then Alex is missaying what he said... and i really like to see him as Daniel

i agree with you... Even if i have pitty because i always have and always will picture him for Jace it is his choice to do whatever he wants in his life, after all it is his. If it makes him happy and if is it that he really want then ok... but still i wish i could see him playing as jace

At first time I hated... he look to girly to me, now its ok but still... Alex will be forever my Jace from the books.

Jaime its ok to me, he proved that he can role jace, not as i though, but still he looks like that hes gonna make justice to jace. i hope yes, i wouldn't like to anyone ruin one of my favourite characters :)

Yeah I know what you mean, I just saw the video and I guess i have to say Jamie is not that bad as Jace he is Ok! but still - and I wish I ain´t sounding a Little bit mean with this but the thing is that I hope that if there is another movie this time Alex get the role of Jace instead of Jamie or I dont know just something to see him play Jace at least once

PS: jace is not a fully asshole but firstly he acts like one but eventually he shows his true collours but his sarcasm and arrogance are always there its not his faul but it gives the touch he has... and Alex gots some of it in him... doing jace would be almost natural for him (this is me imagine) what do you think of this?

Honestly, that's hypocrisy to me-that Alex did not want to play Jace because he didn't want to be in a teenage role lol. And the reason I say this is because Kevin Zegers who plays Alec is exactly 10 years older than Alec (Alec is 18; Kevin is 28), and Kevin didn't seem to have a problem playing Alec.

Actually I love Jamie as Jace for me he is perfect, but I have to say that when I saw him I didn't like him but now I love him :D

and now i feel the same as you Becca :) after seeing the second trailer of TMI i fought the guy REALLY deserved to be with the role :) he turned out to be really good :) (and after all alex won't be four - it was just a rummor :))

but still in the books alex will be jace (but just in the books :)) I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE MOVIE

and also I hope they don't do like what they did to Perks of being a walllower and Host movie :/ - in my country there are multiple cinemas (theaters) but thses two movies didn't play in my local cinema i was quite sad... and I'm hoping that they don't do that to Mortal Instruments movie :)
