Pamela Hey! I wanted to know your opinion on who do you think is the better main character, Tally Youngblood or Aya Fuse?
Personally I liked Aya Fuse better because of her personality. I find that I could relate to her more than Tally.

Lindis Russell I think that they are both exceptional strong charachters. However, I prefer Tally. : )

Julia Tally. I tend to prefer the character that I've read about more than the character that comes in after the original.

Cameron i liked tally a lot better and was a little disappointed when i found out that she wasnt the main character of the fourth book

Allie I like Tally a lot better. Probably because there were more books in her perspective, I had trouble adjusting to Aya, but it was still a really good book. Plus I was glad that Tally was actually in this book, I didn't think she would be.

Yes! But as a pretty, she was kinda okay, but as a special, she was so annoying!

i totaly agre. they where bot good but i prefered Tally.
when i first stared to read this bok i kind of wonderd if it work wih a different main character. but i did. and it worked very nicely.

Rashika (is tired) i loved both of them but then Tally is my favorite because she was there in most of the books and then i thought she was a strong female lead, one of the strongest i have ever "seen".

Stephanie I prefer Tally. Aya was a little boring to me. I didn't even realize ay of the characters spoke a different language until they met up with tally. Weird!

R Tally Youngblood. But I think my opinion on this may be quite biased. I honestly found Extras to be very....boring? I was really struggling to finish this book.

Brynne I wasn't aware they were speaking another language either. It was so weird. But I have to say Tally was way more entertaining. Aya was just weird.

Brynne I only liked Extras because Tally was in there and that's the part that I really got into it.

Mikala tally!!! withought a doubt.

Anna Tally without a doubt.

Aya was whiny, entitled, shallow and self absorbed, and really annoyed the crap out of me. I felt more sympathy for her camera, an inanimate object XD

Tally, while she has many faults, evolves and grows, she fights for what she believes in, she has more depth and character and baggage.

I believe in this. ^^^

Tally, while she has..."

I agree. Tally was by no means perfect. She could be annoying but there was a depth in her that you could see. Sometimes it seemed like the only thing Aya cared about was Fame.

Ilana i actually preferred Tally - i think that there's much more of a dynamic there - in Uglies she was just as naive as Aya but there was a strength there that she had on her own. she didn't rely on anyone, not shay or david or anyone. Aya on the other hand needed Ren for mods to Moggle, needed Hiro for ways to become more famous and needed someone else in general to do anything. i think that she had potential to be as strong as tally but not the motivation to do it herself.

Maddi I like Tally better because you really see how she changes threw the books! In Extras the story is simply and has little twists and suprises while in Uglies, Pretties, and Specials Tally's opinion changes as well as her friends and her fate.

I was completely the same. Also because we get to see and understand Tally more, it was hard getting used to Aya and the whole new world. Did anyone find it a bit jarring?

Rashika (is tired) I only read Extras to see what became of Tally and David ... :P

Jackie I personally liked Tally, but I think it's just because Westerfeld had more time to develop her character.

Ashley Tally Youngblood!! I was dying reading Extras until Tally, Shay, Fausto and David showed up (kinda missed Croy though).

Connie I like Tally more. I found Aya a bit annoying and too self absorb for my liking.

Rachel (APCB Reviews) Tally. Aya was annoying and I couldn't finish the book because it was so boring. Tally had more of a struggle to overcome and she was in a war revolution!

Maya I think I like Tally more, even though I found them both self-absorbed and annoying.

Katlyn I didn't really like either, Tally was snarky and aya was a suckup.

Tally. For some reason when people write about asians in a white/americanised world, they turn out to be an annoying chracter.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I have to say Aya just because in only one book I loved her as much as I love tally and it took me 3 books to properly love tally

Nicole Tally. I liked Aya but Tally's character was different. I think, she's by far the strongest lead female character that I have encountered.

And now I can't wait who the hell is going to be her in the movie.
