Antonia i finished shadowfever but i'm still confused about the ending.

so all along "Vlane" was Cruce.they swapped faces and the seelie queen killed the real vlane thinking he was cruce.

barrons and he's 8 men can die and come back to life. so they are practically immortal right? but everytime they die they go back to the very first place they died?!?

the dreamy eyed guy!! so confused about him. so he was the unseelie king?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

can someone please help explain all this to me!~thanks

Shan ~A~ First of all I need to ask, have u read the other books that proceeded Shadowfever?

don't worry i was pretty damn confused when i finished the series also.. infact the end of book 4 with the monster (Barons or not Barons?) was when my confusion started and just kept going on from there.. and i hated the end of the book with a BBQ.. what was that all about- a way to be normal after all that happened???

Shan ~A~ I am not the best person to explain anything(I tend to ramble), the best place to go for answers is karen's message board, where the moning maniacs can really explain it to you almost as well as karen herself.
I am about to delve into the series again from the beginning in anticipation of Iced.

Jessi Szigethy The dreamy eyed guy is part of the unseelie king. He was too big to fit into one mortal body so he was in many. They kinda listed all the people that he was near the end of the book.

V'Lane was Cruce but was using illusion to fool everyone. He made the swap before V'Lane was dead and was able to get the seelie queen to kill V'Lane instead of him. Then he just posed a V'Lane plotting up to this point.

You are right about Barrons and his men. They can die but then when they come back they are in the desert where they died the first time.

Antonia thanks. but what about barrons son. mac never got the spell because when she was "dreaming" barrons projected in and told her not to open the book that was at the bottom. but didn't they say they put him down?!?

Jessi Szigethy Yes, K'vruck was able to suck the life out of him. That is the hunter that recognized Mac. K'vruck was able to do this because, while he is not death, he is something more final than death. He makes things cease to exist.

Jalilah Hi Everyone,
I really loved this series, however I liked the last book the least because there was just too much information in it. I also found it confusing!

Michielle Don't forget, The Highlander Series sheds some light on the Seelie Queen. And some of the Druids.

Melissa My question is what is Barons and his men and how did they get that way???

Jessi Szigethy There was no answer for that. Maybe leaving it for future book?

Michielle It's been awhile since I have read it, but there was an answer given after Mac found Barrons' son. I believe they were cursed while on a hunting/war expedition, but I would have to look it up and confirm the reason to their curse. They thought his son had truly died until it was too late. His son was still very young and the other camp found him and continued to torture and kill him which drove the poor kid insane.

Michielle Chapter 43 (starts at page 482) of Shadow Fever explains a lot of it. Barrons and his gang were mercenaries, death for hire in a war that was not theirs. They were trapped in a sand storm, and his son died. As he was mourning him, they all died. Then came back to life, his son included. Then 2 days later his son dies in an accident but the body disappears before they can bury it.
They did not understand the consequences at the time. His son dies several times from heat stroke and lack of water trying to make it home, only to be revived back in the original location.
Then rival mercenaries found his son and started the torture and killing... Hope that helps. I don't think they were originally this way. If you read the Highlander series the Seelie have powers to do things like this. Possibly they did this for their amusement?

Melissa I understood about the kid and the going back to where they died at, and him being cursed. I just didn't understand what he was. Cause its not that he is just immortal he also is able to turn into this beast dog thing. I just didn't understand what kind of mythical being he is suppose to be.

Michielle I think there are several forms or partial/mixed forms they can turn into.

Chrisna I liked that she didn't really explain Barrons. He is unexplainable LOL. I reccomend reading the Highlanders series and then Fever to everyone. Alot of details about the Fae is given in Highlanders that helps with Fever.

Lyra V'lane was really Cruce. After V'lane explained to Mac who Cruce is, that's when I began to suspect that V'lane is not who he is, and when Mac dreamed about him, my suspicions grew. So, I'm not really confused about this in the end because it just confirmed my suspicions. What you said is all correct. He is Cruce, he never drank from the cauldron that's why he never forgets who he is and still hold a deep grudge against the king.

Uhm... yeah. They are all immortal. And yes, they came back to where they first died. But like you, I'm a little confused about this part. I mean, why does Barrons and his gang did a vigil when his son died, and where? I get it that they wanted to make sure he's really dead, but if they come back to that desert whenever they live again, why make a vigil in Barron's house?

Yes. From the very first moment I read about this dreamy eyed guy, I began to suspect that he is not normal. It just never occurred to me that his role would be that big. He is the unseelie king. I think he is the, let's just say, head of the king. He is the main part. But because the king is so big, he can't be contained to just one vessel, so he's not the only unseelie king persona out there.

Hope this helped. :)

They kept vigil over his son's body at Barrons' to wait and see if the body disappeared. If it did, then they knew it was resurrected in the original spot. And it was not the True Death. But they waited and the body stayed and they watched for a few more days to make sure.
