Being a new moderator, I'm interested in hearing people's suggestions and comments on how to make this a better group. I've tried to make a point to welcome everyone to the group and say hi in the introductions thread and respond to people's questions in a timely manner, but I'm sure there's always something more I can do to improve it.

Autumn wrote: Maybe we can use the Goodreads forum as an alternate to blogging...? Maybe set up discussion forums by province, that way everyone can use the space and there is always the option to add the post to a person's own blog.
Just a suggestion!

What does everyone think about Autumn's suggestion about having forums/folders dedicated to provinces? It's an interesting idea, and I'd like to get people's input on it. I'm on the fence about it.

GateGypsy | 126 comments It might be useful to have a place to organize everyone's reviews/thoughts on the books they each chose and read, especially if some people will blog on personal sites, etc. Whenever we finish a book and write the review, we can link the review in the forum (whether to the GoodReads review or our blog, etc.) Is that the kind of think we'd use it for? Or would we be posting full reviews in the threads and responding to reviews there as well? I think that if everyone posted full reviews and replies to the reviews in the forum threads, it would get really jumbly. However, if we linked Goodreads reviews and blog reviews in posts, that might make it a little tidier. That way people could reply to reviews on the site linked... but I guess that would limit our own group discussion?

I think something similar to what they have at Around the World in 52 books, with links to book reviews, might be best, in regards to book reviews. It won't be as cluttered. The link's below, if anyone's interested in seeing exactly what they did.

Janice (jamasc) If people want to do personal blogs, that would be fine.

I find that the threads "where have you been" and "where are you" in Around the World work fine for whatever discussion may take place about a book or a place.

I'm not saying that we need to emulate Around the World, but this is a spin-off to some degree and several of us are from that group and are familiar with the set up.

If we do group reads, those will have their own folders and there will be quite a bit of discussion as people read books together.

Let's play it by ear and if a need for it comes up, we can always start a thread.
