The essay can be downloaded via a link in the article. It is actually pretty funny. You can tell the author put a lot of thought into it. The footnotes cite everything from Romero's "Night of the Living Dead" to obscure tax code references.

The only downside is that the pdf did not convert properly when I sent it to my Kindle. The endnotes/footnotes show up in the middle of pages.

Thomas North | 2 comments I wonder if I could adopt a few and claim them as dependents. I'd get the tax deduction, and all in all, there's virtually no real cost to keeping them. Might have to build a fence and all, but otherwise, that could be a great deal.

Glinda Harrison (glindaharrison) | 61 comments You know, you may really be on to something here! The essay mentions the actual taxpayer becoming a zombie; there's no mention of dependents. I mean, anybody could adopt a small horde and reap the benefits! Not to mention turning them loose on obnoxious neighbors and any one of a dozen other uses we could come up with....Yeah, someone's going to have to look into this for sure!
