Fiction (by Albanian authors):
Broken April
Chronicle in Stone
The Country Where No One Ever Dies
Doruntine
The File on H
The General of the Dead Army
The Highland Lute
I humburi
The Palace of Dreams
The Three-Arched Bridge
(I know that that is a LOT of Ismail Kadare (only three of them aren't, so far) but he seems to be THE author who is seen as representing Albanian literature to the outside world and since I've never read any yet, I thought I'd just add a good selection)
Non-Fiction (purely about Albania):
The Albanian Question: Reshaping the Balkans
The Albanians: A Modern History
Land of Eagles: Riding through Europe's Forgotten Country
The final category is for books which have a more tenuous link, such as fiction set in Albania, but not by Albanian authors, or non-fiction about the region rather than just this country - so far I've not got any, please help out if you've read any.

Again, if possible, I'm trying to produce an inclusive list that is representative of the country, I'd LOVE some sort of non-fiction that isn't written by an outsider, but I can't find any in English.
So anyone up for joining me reading about, what must be, the least well known country in Europe?
For that matter, if anyone has already read some of Ismail Kadare's work, or anything else by Albanian writers, this would be where to comment.
