If you asked me who my favorite author was and I answered without thinking I would say wrath James white. Unless you are a fan of extreme horror I wouldn't recommend him though because his novels are brutal, they do all however have good story's to them and not just the shock value like alot of extreme horror writers out there. The best part about wrath James white is that all his books have great endings, the type of endings that you should of saw coming but where to engrossed in the here and now of the story to see the big picture and figure it out. I am on a mission to read all his books and if you think you have the stomich for some of the most vile depraved depressing brutally sick story's around feel free to join me and talk about them here.

Jenny (PastaJen) My favorite author is Dean Koontz. I've been reading his stuff since I was in the seventh grade. His works have almost always (Your Heart Belongs to Me excepting) made me laugh while making me think and then scaring my pants off.

Matt McRoberts (nemesis0) | 404 comments Hmm i have yet to read anything by Wrath James White, though i'll probably try and give him a chance. Me and you (Justin) for the most part have a similar taste in books so I don't expect to not like WJW.

My favorite so far is sacrifice, you don't really have to read the resurectionist first but I recommend that you do though. I have succulent prey that I bought a little while back but haven't read because I am trying to get it nominated as a group read in one of the other groups I am in. If it don't happen for next month I will be starting it on my own though I am kind of going crazy thinking about it sitting on my kindle and not reading it.

I just bought pure hate on eBay for $8.00 I'm psyched about it because it is not one you can get in ebook format or buy new anywhere that I know of. There is also a copy of sacrifice on there for about the same price to buy it now, I paid $20 plus shipping for that one and it was worth every cent. Here is a link to pure hate...... http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...

Today is wrath James whites birthday so I went ahead and bought 3 more ebooks from Amazon. That gives me 5 unread as soon as I get the one from eBay.

Sacrifice by Wrath James White was just released in ebook format for only 3.99 this is a novella but it is one of the best books I have ever read. I comes with my highest recommendations. I personally think it would be better to read the resurectionist first but its not necessary. Here is the link.

Las Vegas Homicide Detective, John Malloy, hates the weird cases, the difficult ones, the kind that make the cover of tabloids, the kind that make or break careers. He’s had enough weird cases to last him a lifetime. So, when a man is murdered in Green Valley, eaten alive by his own dog along with half the pets in the neighborhood, he knows this is going to be a bad one. The next day, an elementary school teacher is beaten to death by his students while being stung by thousands of bees. Then an ex-football player/heavyweight prizefighter is reduced to blood and bones by a swarm of insects, rats, dogs, cats and angry children. All over town, little girls are going missing and turning up starved, dehydrated and nearly catatonic. Somehow, it’s all connected and it’s up to Malloy and his partner, Detective Mohammed Rafik, to figure out how, and how all these deaths and disappearances are connected to a mysterious voodoo priestess named Delilah with the power to take away all of your hatred … all of your fear … all of your pain.

I bought a bunch of his books awhile back and I am trying to make them last because most of his new books are only coming out as high priced collector editions.

message 19: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Why is he only writing collector editions?

message 20: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
He sells the limited numbered and sighned edition for the collectors with the promise that it wont be sold any other way for at least a set number of years. Alot of authors are starting to do this. Wrath James white has books being sold by a few publishers and this one I just linked is published by sinister grin press. This novella was about $26 with shipping for a trade paperback a year ago and just came out in digital. Another book he Co authored with JF Gonzalez is $45 plus shipping and wont be released in paperback and digital for one or two years I don't remember. One of the other publishers put out 2 novellas he wrote for $50 each and the will never be re-released.
