Ok so starting in August we are going to start reading a web design book!

Anyone who wants to join in can and we can have discussion during and after the book.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good book to read?

This one might be good to start off: Design Is a Job by Mike Monteiro

We need more suggestions for a poll!

Kyusik Chung | 3 comments Would I be perverting the intent of the group by suggesting a book that is more about design in general? I've been wanting to read Information Graphics for a while.

Nope! I will put that on the list of possible books!

Ettore Pasquini I also would favor a more generic design book, or one about UI or UX design.

Brittany (brittanyforks) | 2 comments I'm currently reading The Shape of Design, and I'd love to read Design Is a Job, but I'm up for anything.

Ettore Pasquini Can I nominate this book?

The Laws of Simplicity Design, Technology, Business, Life by John Maeda

Another book to consider maybe not for this up coming month but another month would be The Shape of Design by Frank Chimero

message 17: by William (new)

William Cline | 8 comments It looks like A Practical Guide to Designing for the Web won the poll. Shall we start it?

We shall!!! It looks like they have an ebook version as well so you do not have to wait for shipping!

I was going to read this book by Dan Saffer, Microinteractions. I'm down for reading something more general tho. Lemme look at your choices. :)

message 27: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Holloway (jakeish) | 2 comments Simple and Usable or Seductive Interaction Design both sound great! Does anyone know the moderator directly? We should set up another poll to determine the group's favorite.
