Riki Please no spoilers aside from the question I'm asking. I might have missed it during some of the passages, but I was under the impression that Amara is very young, closer to Tavi's age than to Bernard's, but then I got to a certain part of the book and thought maybe I'm misinformed about her age. Anyone know?

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ If I remember correctly she's about 23 to 26 years old. She's definitely older than Tavi by several years. You're correct that Bernard is older than Amara. Bernard is in his 40's though he looks alot younger.

Riki Oh, damn, I was under the impression she was like 16-18. Whoops. I figured she was going to be Tavi's love interest. Interesting.

Anyway, I'm starting to really enjoy this book :)

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ Nope she looks like a young adult. She's not his love interest.

BJ Richardson I understood her to be about 20 at the beginning of the book. She's just out of "college". The same one Tavi starts at 16 and goes for 3 years.

KingKiller Haha I must be at a similar place in the book that you were because I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm hoping his love interest is interesting, too many books I've read lately would have been better off without any romance due to how cliched/boring the other half was.

Also, I don't know how it can be changed but the part where it lists the characters on the main page for this book spoiled a fairly important part for me

(view spoiler)

If anyone knows how I'd suggest they change it.

Neal Simmons She is definately far younger than Bernard, but medieval relationships were often one-sided.

I saw her as 18-20. The only time I can remember it mentioning an age in relationship to her was when it states she begain training with her mentor at 13.
