What do you think of her?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Liked her a lot and think she changed a lot throughout the book, which was good. She started out really insecure but then when she started to spend more time with Prince Kai she became a lot better

yeah she is

Farhia (farhia97) | 105 comments I loved Cinder, she was an amazing character. I always hoped for the best for her. I felt like I connected with her. When something bad happens, I would scream in protest (internally of course) I thought she was truly a well rounded character and always wished her the best

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 1589 comments I love Cinder! She is very resilient, refusing to back down. Her sarcasm is a very nice touch as well. I also am liking her relationship with Kai, but wish she would tell him the truth about how she is really cyborg! I feel like this will cause problems in the future.

Amphitrite (ravenclaweruditedemigodselected) | 8 comments She is awesome!!! She doesn't know how to use her powers fully yet and she doesn't see her true potential. Cinder knows what she thinks is the right thing to do so even if she hates it she does it. From the beginning we could see how caring she was and she would make a great queen but once she found out she freaked but who wouldn't. Her cyborg parts make her insecure about herself but it also makes her stronger. But what I love about her most is that she is still a teenage girl going through all this. She didn't want to be a cyborg or a lunar princess all she wanted was freedom but put a crown on her and her dream is stripped from her. She is funny and always tries to help her friends and she tried hard not to have handsome guys distract her from her goals. Unless it's Kai but she tried their too but who could say no to a face like that. That guys doesn't need lunar powers he drools hotness.

Cynthia (cindy_dryer) | 4 comments Cinder is my favorite female protagonist for so many reasons.
-She's a cyborg (how cool is that!)
-Cinderella is one of my favorite Princesses
-She has brown eyes (I mean come on, how many main characters have you read about in a fictional setting that have brown eyes?not that many)
-she has a sense of humor
-she's resourceful
-shes persistent and determined
-she experiences some major character development
-she was pretty much treated like crap by her family and she was still able to pick herself up and not let that stop her
-some of my friends nicknamed me "cinder" and that was the reason that this book caught my eye

I agree with you a hundred percent. Cinder is a truly incredible character. She really is just a teen trying to survive all the craziness that was thrown at her. I'm rootin' for her happiness.

Crystal She is amazing and everything she been through she still fights for what and who she wants to no end I really admire that❤❤

Bookiemonster | 30 comments Plus, she is one of the few female characters defying the norm. SHe isn't obsessed with Kai, she has a beautiful relationship with her sister and Dr.Erland and just her internal conflicts make her seem more human than any other female protagonist i've read about.

Stephanie (mixedgirlreading) I love Cinder because even though she's based on Cinderella she's not waiting for some prince to save her.She loves Kai, but her whole life isn't focused on marrying him. Also she's a girl cyborg who works with machines and isn't afraid to get dirty, but she's still a girl and I think that's awesome.

Rose (rose5509) | 2 comments Cinder's an amazing character, she's prepared to fight her battle despite the odds being stacked against her and she doesn't let the mistreatment of society mar her goodness. I love her relationship with Peony and the way she deals with her struggle makes her well - rounded and truly personable character.

Andy | 9 comments Cinder is pretty strong because she endures everything her horrible step mom does with patience and also deals with the hatred thrown onto cyborgs but there are times when she can be very insecure...

message 14: by Anna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Anna (anna_pbanana) | 3 comments Cinder sacrifices herself a lot. She sacrificed herself to the plague research (even if technically her step-mom volunteered her). And then she sacrifices herself at the end of the book to try to save Kai even when she knows that Queen Levanna would kill her if she sees her at the ball. I know a lot of YA heros/heroines sacrifice themselves for the idea of a better world and are usually confused because some huge truth has came out (Cinder's true identity), but they are all my (fictional) role models.

Cas ♛ (rowangalathynius) She's wonderful character, and I definitely respect her. She isn't my fav character from The Lunar Chronicles, but she's definitely a good one.

Cordelia the Ardent Reader Definitely a top 5 for me

Lindy | 11 comments I love these books! I'm usually not into these types of novels (meaning scifi and such) but this series definitely got me into it.

message 18: by Alex (new) - rated it 5 stars

Alex (alex1320) | 32 comments One of my favourite.

Brianna (bria_b95) | 4 comments Love love love this book & series so much!

Isabella | 30 comments I liked her a lot in the first book of the series and felt sorry for the way her step mom treated her and I admire the way that she is really strong.

Alexia (alexiahendrix) | 18 comments I disliked her in the first book: she was indecisive and weak. But her character started improving in the 2nd book and I imagine I might end up liking her a bit in the end.

message 22: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy (daydreamer0626) One of my favorite female protagonists <3 I loved watching her grow throughout the series (and even throughout her own book). One of the main reasons I liked her was she was believable to me in many ways. She wasn't perfect and she made mistakes and unpopular choices. But she put those she cared about first which I loved <3 I could easily see her being someone I hung out with :)

message 23: by Maya (new) - rated it 4 stars

Maya | 30 comments I love how she was sarcastic! It made her an interesting character. She's supposed to be the 'Cinderella' obviously, but I love how she isn't sweet most of the time and does what she has to do.

Casey Cinder is legit! Funny, sarcastic, loyal , and willing to do anything to protect the ones she cares about

Chloe I love Cinder's sarcasm!

Imaane | 29 comments Love Cinder. One of my all time favourite heroine. Badass and brave.

message 27: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma Gibson (chickenthighhhh) | 28 comments Cinder is awesome. SO different from usual heroines due to her unique personality. Love how loyal and strong she is. She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and I respect her a LOT for that. Definetly could relate to her the most. 10/10.

Agreed 100% It was really nice to have her stand up and be brave and fight for what she believes in as opposed to some other female protagonists I've encountered!

I listened to the audible books. So much fun!

seo eun Lee | 12 comments This was the book that got me in to reading YAbooks
so this serise and Cinder means a lot to me.
I love Cinder's sarcasm:)

hairy eyelashes (hairy-eyelashes) She's an amazing character who is one of the few that actually has character development. Other characters might learn something but never actually do anything about it. Whereas Cinder actually learns about her identity, and takes bigger action. She had nothing from the beginning but as she helped others, she found happiness.
