GateGypsy | 126 comments Seemed this was missing, so I decided to add it. Here are some of the authors from Alberta I've located:

(apparently I haven't found any yet. I promise to edit this when I do!)

As I've found authors from the various provinces, I've either been adding them to the appropriate thread or creating new threads for authors for that province, and doing the same for books set in the provinces. It seems to work pretty good for me.
I think you're right though. It would be nice to see some Alberta authors listed.

Autumn Joey Comeau is from Calgary. I just started reading One Bloody Thing After Another and it could be set really in any city, but dang! Is it ever creepy and weird and wonderful. I can't wait to read Overqualified.

I heard about Joey Comeau. Will you let me know how you like One Bloody Thing After Another and Overqualified, Autumn?

Just finished both Melissa! One Bloody Thing...so clever. It is really a novella, and in a horror genre. A number of different narratives in alternate chapters, and he brings them together in the end. Loved it, creepy and lovely and wonderful.

Overqualified is very much like reading his journal, but in a sequence of faux-cover-letters that he is writing to big Canadian corporations with his "attached resume." Some of it is just straight funny, but there are parts where he is definitely a bit...unhinged. Worth it, and a very quick read so there doesn't need to be a whole ton of time commitment.

Jessica Kluthe (jessica_kluthe) | 13 comments I'm an Alberta author! My book will be out this March: Rosina, the Midwife, but there are a lot of other writers here including Todd Babiak, Marty Chan, Robert Kroetsch, Rudy Wiebe, Jason Lee Norman, Jalal Barzanji, Tim Bowling... etc. If anyone is looking for an Alberta suggestion, please let me know!

Jessica Kluthe (jessica_kluthe) | 13 comments I started a list a few days ago of authors in Edmonton, AB. I know some of you are reading Todd Babiak's work and I have him listed here: http://www.goodreads.com/list/user_vo...
