Shamma8 (s-the-cat) | 14 comments Well, the three that I had a 'PLEAAAASE GODD NOOOOOOOOOOO-....' moment when they died were Fred , Hedwig and Dobby :'( , poor George will never be the same without his other half , his partner in crime which is so sad as they were full of life , creative and funny ! And poor Hedwig ! Such a heartbreaking death ! At least Dobby had a funeral ! And Dobby *cries a river* ! I can't even go into that :,(

As for who I'd want back I'd say Sirius Black but I'm not sure he's even dead , but he's as good as since he fell into the veil, so , until they discover it's mystery ...

Now ! Your turn ladies and gents !

Sirius is dead. There is no question about it. On the other side of the veil is death.

message 3: by Emily (new)

Emily | 7 comments ohh thats such a hard question! when hedwig died it was a total shock and he was his best friend and a link to the magical world when he was living stiffled and suppressed at the dursleys.

Dobby was another hard one. He finally got free amd was happy. i would loved to see what kind of damage he would have done at the last battle. oooh i hate belatrix!!

George or was it Fred? anyway that one just killed me. i wanted to marry him! but Jk R said that ahe was thimking of killing mr weasly but killed the twin instead, and im glad that mr weasly survivrd so that harry still had a father figure.

so any of these three, its hard to decide.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Definately Dobby...
What makes me sad is that in the books, Harry has such a good relationship with Dobby; Dobby gives him the Gillyweed (Book 4) and helps in the Kitchens and helps Winky. But in the movies, the only time Dobby is shown (other than the 7 duo) is the Chamber of Secrets. Dobby is so cute and i would definately bring him back. Stupid Bellatrix; I'm so glad Molly killed her!!
Oh i would also bring back Snape. Even though Snape seemed bad, at the end you find out he was good all along. Oh, and who wouldn't want to bring back Lily and James? Then this whole thing wouldn't have even happend!

Lupin and Tonk's death was devastating too. Poor Teddy!
At least he has Harry as his godfather.

Oh and Hedwig

I cried on that one, the death of childhood. I still get sad...

message 7: by Duks (new)

Duks (cnduks_) | 109 comments Snape's death (both books and movies) He spend the whole series being portrayed as the bad guy, and in one chapter you shattered every perception you had of him. and just broke my heart. His undying love of Lily, his protection of Harry. *getting teary eyed here*

I would bring back Fred!

HC | 31 comments I think mine would either be Fred or Lupin and Tonks.

I was really shocked and sad that Lupin and Tonks both died because they just had a baby. and I never expected Fred to die either.

Same. Tonks and Lupin were so happy together. Also Fred and George were so close and funny together, and now George has one ear and no twin =(

Exactly!!

message 11: by Tori (new)

Tori (torithatnerd) I was extremely broken up by almost every character that died throughout the Harry Potter series, and I cried for all of them. For some reason, though, Hedwig's death caught me completely off guard. I didn't cry, because I was sort of in shock for a while. So, yeah, I'd definitely bring back Hedwig.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

JAMES AND LILY!!!

message 13: by Lo (new)

Lo (darkalleycookies) | 21 comments Wynter wrote: "JAMES AND LILY!!!"

Wow, I never thought of them as a choice. They were just always not there.

message 14: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (daniel_ozl) | 20 comments Dumbeldore would be the one I would bring back

message 15: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (waterspout) | 27 comments I'd say I'd bring back Fred, but that would be very selfish of me because I don't have a good reason. So, I'd probably bring back Sirius because asdfghjkl;' Harry just found a family! And now he's gone... Even though he could have saved him... By a second... That was really tragic! >.<

message 16: by Dewinda (new)

Dewinda Wiradinata (de_wind) | 15 comments first time in my mind... SIRIUS! just when harry starts thinking that he will always be happily ever after with him... hiks hiks...

but FRED TOO...!!
they're completing each other. what was rowling thinking??? oh well, maybe they need to be separated otherwise they wouldn't get interested in marrying a woman..but, still...it's sad...my hero of the stories actually, both of them.. :'(

message 17: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 23 comments DUMBLEDORE AND SIRIOUS WERE BEST AND I CRIED

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Dumbledore's death was really sad, but also quite scary. It was kinda the point in the series where Harry's mentor, the only person (except kinda Harry) that Voldemort was scared of, and the man who knew everything, died. Everything got more difficult and scary then.
However I thought that Sirius' death was one of the saddest. He was the only true family alive Harry had, someone who he truly belonged to. I just felt so upset for him because he had lost so much already and his sustitue fatherly figure was gone!
I also thought that Dobby and Hedwig's deaths were extremely sad and Hedwig's death came as a huge shock. They were Harry's friends and magical connections.
Fred's death was horrible! I could never imagine losing a twin-they were so close and probably never had more than a day apart from each other. It was absolutely gut-wrenching.
I don't know which one affected me the most!

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh and Lupin and Tonk was so sad-just after they were married and had a child! Snape's was difficult because you still thought he was bad at the time of his death and as soon as you found out he was good I felt really upset!

message 20: by Lo (new)

Lo (darkalleycookies) | 21 comments Wynter wrote: "JAMES AND LILY!!!"

Then there would be no Harry Potter story at all...

message 21: by Kim BookGirl (new)

Kim BookGirl The first time I read about Dumbledore's death I bawled. So many deaths were sad but that one shook me up the most.

message 22: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 17 comments EVERYONE!!!!! but if i had to choose Sirius, Lupin and Tonks I was crying my eyes out

message 23: by Andrea (last edited Apr 20, 2013 03:02PM) (new)

Andrea (sayu4) | 9 comments I felt sorry for every one of them (I mean the good characters), but I felt particularly sorry for Colin Creevey, because he was such an innocent kid.

He did:
"Then Neville nearly walked into him. He was one half of a pair that was carrying a body in from the grounds. Harry glanced down, and felt another dull blow to his stomach: Colin Creevey, though underage, must have sneaked back just as Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle had done. He was tiny in death."

:(

Aydin Sessions (justin_case) | 406 comments I got two kittens and named them Sirius and Andromeda after the star and the constellation
And Sirius died this morning

message 33: by Laura (new)

Laura Cantu (lauraccantu) | 11 comments Fred for sure. The bond between twins is unmistakably strong. His death, among all, was the most shocking to me. Not only that, but Emily said it was a choice between him and Mr. Weasly? I'm sure Mr. Weasly would have traded is life for Fred's. A parent never wants to lose a child, it's not the natural order of things. However, JK did keep it real. War does not discriminate.
Sirius was also a shame to see go, but each event shaped Harry into who he became. I don't know if JK could have written it any other way, and still have the same impact.

message 34: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (dancegirl01mom) | 3 comments I cried for all of them (even threw my book across the room for some). I think if I had to choose one death it would be Tonks since she left behind a newborn although I do recognize the literary significance of her and Remus's death. The one O would want to bring back...I don't think I could pick one because if anyone had lived it would have changed the direction of the story. I am glad that Jo decided not to kill Arthur in the 5th book since that would have changed the Weasley's too much for Ron to continue as the person he was throughout the remaining books.

message 36: by Donielle (new)

Donielle Mauger | 2 comments The death of Sirius was the worse. But part of me would be tempted to bring back Fred because George needs him, or Tonks so Teddy had a parent...

message 37: by Shastina (new)

Shastina Henderson (shastinahenderson) The way Snape's death was written was the saddest for me.

I would absolutely bring Fred back.

message 38: by Chrissy (new)

Chrissy (crazycatlady_booknerd) | 78 comments I cried for snape and black. I would want to bring back dobby

message 39: by Annamarie (new)

Annamarie (ilovebooks143) I cried for almost all of them and I would bring bak Fred because he death broke the family.

message 40: by Hanna (new)

Hanna | 25 comments Honestly I would save Fred and sacrifice Percy in his place. I think his death was the most unnecessary as story elements go and Percy would have been a better Weasley sacrifice for plot.

message 41: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey Fred's death broke my heart, I feel so bad for his family, especially George! And he was too young. I would definitely bring him back.

message 42: by Amy (new)

Amy | 98 comments The death of the character that I found I was most affected by was Snape's. After you find out who he really was he dies, which is tragic and depressing.

If Snape had lived after Voldemort was defeated I think his relationship with Harry may have improved. That I would have liked to see.
Also, Snape was Dumbledore's best friend and thus being knowlagable about what Dumbledore would have thought Harry should do later, like a guiding figure.

But that would have changed the book if Snape had lived so I feel that in the end, it was best the way it happened.

message 43: by Natasha (new)

Natasha | 1 comments Definitely Dumbledore! I was on a family holiday when I read it and it definitely ruined it a little bit :P At least it was necessary to the stories though. HEDWIG, on the other hand... Most pointless death in literature? Ha

message 44: by Bex (new)

Bex | 24 comments I was most affected by Snape's death because up until the point where he shows his memories in Deathly Hallows, I always thought him to not be on Dumbledore's side. So his death really caused me to change my point of view on him. And as for the person who I want to bring back, I would have to choose Dumbledore because after his death, it made me question everything about him since no own, not even Harry knew much of anything about his personal life. Everything we learned was second hand news. So I would've wanted Dumbledore to still be alive so we could learn more about him by what he tells us instead of his friends and family members tells us.

message 45: by Anna (new)

Anna | 41 comments Fred and Dobby. I just can't imagine George without Fred. My brain just likes to forget the part where Fred die, so that there can always be two Weasley twins. I would have rather Percy die than Fred if I had to choose Dobby was so innocent and cute and just WHY??? BELLATRIX WHY??

message 46: by Nia (new)

Nia | 15 comments Sirius. My heart stopped. It was the worst thing ever. And Harry's reaction. I don't even wanna talk about it.

message 47: by Adidev (new)

Adidev | 6 comments Sirius and Dobby
I almost cried both times. It was unfair that Sirius, who had been in AZKABAN for so much time for a crime he did not commit , had to die and leave Harry. Dobby the free elf died a hero's
death but he deserved to live more.......
Not to sound like a Slytherin but I wish Sirius would have been alive.....

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Harry's parents, as long as he could still meet the Weasleys

Camilla Jensen | 46 comments Fred, Dobby, Harry's parents and Snape. There were tears in my eyes when i saw their death. And i would bring them back too.

message 50: by Mary (last edited Aug 17, 2014 04:12PM) (new)

Mary (gryffindorbs) | 93 comments I'm just not sure. Everyone in HP really effect my life in some way or another. I think it might have actually been Colin Creevey, when we saw his body being dragged into the school. It really hit me that EVERYONE was effected by the battle of Hogwarts. It really hurt me, too. Colin wasn't my favorite character or anything, he just was always that little muggle-born that was so excited to be in the wizard world and was always taking pictures. Harry never noticed him grow up, fought harder, he never considered that boy. That made me feel SO guilty. Someone was always there, bit we forgot he was.
If I had to bring anyone back, it would be Tonks and Lupin. I felt like that those two are so amazing and kind with their little baby and their insecurities. But I really don't think I'd bring anyone back if I had a choice. They all meant something to me, but death is just a part of life we have to accept and understand. JK really helped me understand that, and I'm really happy she did that for me.
