Duration: 1 month from start date

Choose your level:
Private: 1-2 books
Sergeant: 3-4 books
First Lieutenant: 5-6 books
General: 7-8 books


Rereads/any format/challenge combining are all fine.
You may post your book list ahead of time or as you go.


1. Read a book that's set during a war (real or fictional) -OR- that has a fight in it.

2. Read a book that involves a branch of the military in some way –OR- has a flag on the cover, or the cover is predominately one of the colors that makes up your country's flag. Example: If you live in the U.S. you'd read a book that's cover is predominately red, white, or blue.

3. Read a book that takes place in a country different than the one you live in -OR- read a book that takes place after a war has ended or is a post-apocalyptic or dystopian book.

4. Read a book where a person or group of people fight against tyranny or injustice. Examples: Mockingjay, The Adventures of Robin Hood etc. -OR- read a book where a character is honorable, brave in the face of danger, or does something that is a great sacrifice.

5. Read a book that has a covert operation, secret mission (military or non-military), or has a spy in it –OR- is a thriller.

6. Read a book where the protagonist is a leader (of a country, group, club etc), –OR- has a character that wears a uniform (fireman, maid, military etc).

7. Read a book that has a parade in it –OR- read a memoir (bonus point if the memoir is from a veteran).

8. Read a book where a conflict is resolved –OR- that has a weapon in it or on the cover.

Millie's Second Chance by Dixie Lynn Dwyer, Millie and her friends build a shelter for abused women and children and she fights against her ex who abused her and is obsessed with killing her, done 10/28

Off the Grid by Mark Young, thriller full of covert ops/spies and secret plots, done 11/5

Peace, Love, and Murder by Nancy Holzner, Trudy is a Deputy Sheriff, done 11/11

Confessions of a Las Vegas Motorcop by H.D. Justice, memoir, done 10/30
