Crow's Row
question
Does Crow's Row need more S-E-X?

So you guys know that I'm writing the sequel to Crow's Row. I've been getting a lot of emails lately, asking that the sequel have descriptive sex scenes. I'm asking all of you Crow's Row lovers...and haters, should the sequel be less PG13 and more Shades of Grey???? Does sex make a better story?
Not sex. As Sylvain Reynard refers to it "Worshiping her body."
Since the tragic way they parted in the first 'Crow's Row', it would be nice to see Cameron prove not only through words but also through actions that he still cares for Emily as much as he did during their time at the cabin.
Sometimes the hidden, the private, and the unknown - these are the things that tantalize.
As they say - 'Leave it to the imagination'. Except sometimes that is not enough. Especially if the love is being questioned because ofseparation.
Just a little more details in -
How slow he goes, not believing she is with him again.
How gentle he touches, not wanting to hurt her anymore.
Or even how deep the kiss is, as if his life depended on giving her comfort.
In a way I guess I'm hoping it will be his way of promising her they won't have to part anymore. HOPING. Anyways - So yes. Something to get us fan-girls L-O-V-ing Cameron all over again please. ;]

Maybe some more, but not too much. One of the things I liked about the book was that it was a great story without the sex. Some of the most romantic books I have ever read were not R rated. (Georgette Heyer- definitely G, and Mary Balogh -PG to PG13) The description of the sex act isn't what is romantic or establishes connection between the characters, but the emotion they have for each other. Some of sexiest scenes in books I've read are the way they look at, or talk to each other. I think more sexual tension would be great, and I think you are a good enough writer that you could get your point across, and make us sweat a little (in a good way) with out getting too graphic. It was nice to read a book without all of that.
It does. More sex-love. Obviously between Cameron and Emily. It's not the sex itself but the fact tha it is another way to express physically their love.
I don't necessarily want it to be graphic, but I would like those scenes to be expanded. I need to see more of the passion that is between them. I think it would add to the intensity of their relationship.
Yes to more sex. I was thinking that when I was reading it.
Definitely more sex, the characters have such passion with each other, it was the only thing missing for me in the book.
I don't think it needs it, so long as I can feel the emotional connection between them I'm happy. If there's too much in a story I find myself skimming through those parts
YES! The lack of sex is the only reason I gave it 4 stars because I would have given it 5!
I'd like more details. I agree with the person who said that Cameron seemed a little uncomfortable with sex (and I thought Emily was too). The two of them both seemed much younger than they were because they were so teenager-y about it. I'm all for more sexual tension, but it definitely does not need to be 50 Shades. I like books that get into the sex, but you have to write what you feel comfortable with. I think if there was a little more detail or at least some sense that these two were grown-up lovers, I think it would show some progression in their relationship. The way things were at the end of book 1, they just didn't seem that at ease with each other physically.
Very excited for the sequel! :)

No, I don't think it should have more... I loved that you didn't include details on their physical relationship.
A lot of times these books the attraction is based on pure physical attraction, they have sex and then they're in love. And they're whole relationship is based on more physical than emotional needs. Cam and Emmy didn't have the physical relationship before they fell in love. Cam fell in love with her by just watching over her, never having a single conversation with her. And Emmy basically fell in love with him at first sight. I think it you played more into their sexual relationship it would take something away from their love story.

Absolutely!! I am not really sure on how I feel about this book anyways.
I read this amazing book in a day and a half
I would have liked to have read of their love developed
In the story. Def more physical love. But over all
amazing story. Can't wait for book 2.
I am still half drunk from WTF ending.

I don't think sex makes for a better story, HOWEVER I do think it adds to the development of the relationship. Personally, I needed more of that in Crow's Row. I needed to experience more of how Emmy and Cameron's love blossomed, both verbally and physically. As long as it is Emmy and Cameron having the sex in Scare Crow, I say put it in there! I wouldn't go all Fifty Shades, but more detail would be better. With that, thank you so much for sharing this story with us. It has seriously left me a state of longing for more. I can't wait for Scare Crow and truly hope that Emmy and Cameron get their HEA.
I don't want it to be like 50 shades because this isn't that type of book. HOWEVER, I wouldn't mind a little bit more. I think it would add more to their connection.
JULIE!! YOU ARE THE AUTHOR, YOU WRITE AMAZING!! I READ CROWS ROW IN 1 DAY!! AND I LOVED IT.. I KNOW IM GOING TO LOVE THE 2ND BOOK AS WELL..
Yessssss. I missed it the first book. Especially her first time. It would be perfect to get an intimate picture of them together.
More vivid expressions of their passion for each other. Not the 50 shades, that is not what the story is about. We need to know more of Cam's feelings and he needs to show us them, they are just under the surface and a little more prodding will bring them out and we will all be very happy (sigh!).
Yes, but I think Cameron needs to earn it, after what he did! If I were Emily I will kick his ass, and make him suffer a bit! It could be fun make him jealous!

I would love to see their relationship develop both physically and emotionally, and sex is a part of that. But defo not to the extremes of 50 shades, its a different kind of story and a different kind of love, and thats why we all love it so much !!!

I guess so but not to the pont where it becomes erotica hahahaha.
Yes!!!! That would be amazing, not as much as fifty but only to see the passion between Emily and cameron and give some power to Emily !!!

Hell yes! Presiento que emmy estará más sexy y confiada en el 2do libro idk..
I totally agree...
Cameron is AWESOME the way he is....he doesn't have to go all Fifty..
But when Cameron and Emily re-unite...some steamy scenes wouldn't hurt...they might even fit into place :)
Just an idea.
Love your work,Julie. Can't wait for Scare Crow..

It's all in the build up of Sexual tension and the soft slow touches. The looks and emotion. It doesn't have to be 50 shades graphic to make good goose bumps!! Although I loved 50 shades ! But this book doesn't need it, or as much.
Emmy and Cameron admitted they love each other a lot but i didn't feel it, it wasn't very believable because physically all that love didn't always show...it doesn't have to be explicit, but a little more details won't hurt :)

NO NO NO!! I am a FSOG fan and I am a CR fan as well. I love your writing style and the difference in the fact that you do not follow the trend of a book that is Just sex and no STORY PLOT, Crows row was so refreshing because it had so much to offer. Yes sex scenes are great to read but not when they take over so much of the book that you have to start skipping pages. Please keep to your style I love it!!! I don't know what else to say though I could probably go on forever and ever.

Needs a little bit, obviously not like Fifty shades of grey...
I think the story was perfect the way it was written. You don't need a lot of sex in every love story to make the book better. Sometimes love stories without sex scenes, well written are the best ones.
Well, IMO yes, but NOT Shades of Grey. Just romantic and intense and steamy love scene. ;) Anyways, I love Crow's Row even though there was no love scenes.
No graphic details needed, i think the story definitely doesnt suit that. But builds up and teasing could work :)
I think that adding just a tad more would just add to feeling the connection between Emily and Cameron. It doesn't have to be way over the top either.
Loved Crow's Row without it - but at the same time I would always vote for more smut. Especially with all the tension it would be so...ummm...satifying.
I think that it would add more depth to their story its like all this build up and then its like wham they did it, it was amazing. I think that as a reader sometimes you need to experience the pent up passion between the characters. It doesn't need to be 50 shades, but it would be a nice addition.
That was one of the things I wished for in the first book. When they finally came together I wished we had of gotten more of an emotional connection to the characters. It didn't have to be explicit but it would have been nice if it wasn't glossed over. Passionate scenes along with emotional details bring out passion and emotions in a reader and I love it when I get the butterflies ;) Its just one more way to solidify their feelings for one another. There's nothing more swoon worthy then a man who can't get enough of or stay away from the woman he loves or a man who's feelings overrule common sense. That being said, I CAN'T WAIT for the second book. Sex or no sex, Im excited to see what happen next for all these characters!
Just dont make it like Shades of grey! NOOOOOOOOO! (Hate that book) I mean there is S-E-X and then there is filth like (50 shades)
It sounds harsh but I don't think I would read book 2 if it ended up too icky! And that would be sad 'cuz I love crow's row!

In addition, forgot to add. Not necessarily X rated passion, but certainly some heavy R petting
I loved Crow's Row. I honestly found it more PG then PG-13 even. Yes, I wanted him to get on it SOOO bad!!!!! Yes, it needs some passionate sex for sure!!! That was my only complaint about the book
Yes it does!! I agree that it doesn't need to be as hardcore as FS but more to show the relationship between Cameron and Emily! Very excited for this book!! So can't wait!!
I got into reading YA books because I was getting tired of all the sex almost every few pages, but I also feel that a good romance needs some. So yes, more would be good as long as it’s not overdone.
I think so maybe not 50 shades of grey. But maybe in between that.
It doesn't really matter to me, but you know what "they" say...S-E-X sells, but please, not nearly as much as the Grey books...that got on my nerves and I found myself skipping pages thought it was always just more of the same and....exhausting! LOL!
