Did I mention that Lady Darling is friends with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?

He doesn’t appear in the book, but it seems Lady Darling has had some influence on him and his writing…

Her name happens to be Irene. ;-)

Poor Lady Darling. She's a widowed empty-nester and all she wants to do is stay in the country with her pets, her gardens, and her books (sounds familiar, heh.).

But a friend calls upon her to introduce her daughter into society and help chaperone her finding a husband, so of course Lady Darling rises to the occasion....

I'm super excited about this new series, written by my alter ego. ;-)

Historical mystery is my favorite genre to read (and write), and featuring a practical, slightly introverted empty-nester into a murder mystery was so much fun.

I had such fun writing this book. It's inspired by Agatha Christie's HALLOWE'EN PARTY, with a murderous twist using the party game "Two Truths and a Lie."

I had fun thinking of what Phyllida Bright's two truths and a lie would be. ;-)
