I made it to "the scene" where all readers become upset. I applaud Ms. Stewart for setting it up so incredibly well. The betrayal, the hysterical confrontation, the threat, and then the doubt. These key elements drive the dread straight into your gut, and when "it" happens, you're already raw and most assuredly not ready.

It's that time of year!! I love Simone St. James, and with it being almost October, I'm ready to drag out my well-worn copy of Maddy Clare for a spooky season reread!

This is dark and incredibly messed up, but I'm here for it. Actually, no. I'm here for Josh and the love he has for the cat. They're going to be besties for life.

Ugh. I really want this book in paperback, but I'm stubborn and refuse to buy it unless I can find that beautiful original cover with the forest and the single shoe on the dirt road.

I should not have laughed so hard when Josh broke the 4th wall, but I couldn't help myself.

Everyone's going to have to wait a hot minute for HH 4. I've fallen down a rabbit hole with this book, and I'm not so sure I want to emerge just yet. :)

A fish... I never, ever thought a guppy fish could traumatize me, but I was wrong. Fish, Nik. You went there with the fish AND THEN doubled down on it with the eyeball. I physically recoiled and sniffed the air as if it were in the room with me.

I am the worst ARC reader in the world, but this is a WILD, dark romance so far, and I'm getting a physical copy of the real deal once I am done!
