My second reading of this beautiful memoir. A very touching, brave, insightful and poetic portrayal of our vulnerable and fragile human condition. A classic piece of nature writing.

This second reading is as fresh as the first. Rainy day today in the hills of Western Australia. Cosy fire, mugs of tea and a re-reading of a favourite book has kept me in doors all day!

This beautiful book shows us the connection we have with nature. It is a book that never goes on the shelf but sits on my coffee table. Visitors are always picking it up and it makes great conversation. It is not a book that needs to be read from start to finish and the photography is stunning.
