Kathleen Glasgow I wrote an author's note at the back of the book that talks about my inspiration for writing it.
Kathleen Glasgow The sequel to our bestselling mystery THE AGATHAS is out now! It's called THE NIGHT IN QUESTION and you can pick it up anywhere. My next solo book is out in fall 2024 :)
Kathleen Glasgow I think if you'd like your writing to improve, you need to read a lot, and read widely--different things. Poetry, plays. If you mostly read fantasy, try some contemporary reads. I don't think you need to write every day, but writing is a muscle--emotional, physical, intellectual--and needs to be exercised. I hope that makes sense!
Kathleen Glasgow I think about writing a prequel or a sequel all the time. It might happen someday! In the meantime, I have a second book, How to Make Friends With the Dark, that explores grief, and and a new book You'd Be Home Now, out in September 2021 that explores addiction and recovery.

Kathleen Glasgow No, it does not mean this. Her mother made a video for Tiger explaining events in her life for Tiger to view later. Her mother does not die by suicide.
Kathleen Glasgow Louisa is a character that reflects a certain mindset. Her ideas are her own and belong to her character. A book of her journals would be very interesting!
Kathleen Glasgow I can't take any credit for helping people, but I am glad that the stories I write have resonated with readers and perhaps made them feel more seen, less alone :)
Kathleen Glasgow It's simply the thing I love doing the most in the world. That said, there are days when I don't write because I need and want to do other things. Sometimes you have to give yourself some breathing time :)
Kathleen Glasgow That would certainly be something! You never know...
Kathleen Glasgow I have! I don't know if I have particular thoughts about the changes, except maybe ones that are influenced by my own nostalgia for a particular place and time. There are things I miss (the grungier aspects of the way it used to be), but neighborhoods change and new memories are made by the people inhabiting those spaces. Tucson will always be a special place for me. It appears in Girl in Pieces, How to Make Friends With the Dark, and an upcoming book.
Kathleen Glasgow Thanks for reading How to Make Friends With the Dark! It isn't based on a true story, but grief over losing my mother and sister played a part in how I wrote the book.
Kathleen Glasgow Yes, I did. I talk about this in the author's note for Girl in Pieces.
Kathleen Glasgow I think the best answer is to read a lot and to keep writing. No one is going to write the story you want to tell except you! I know it's hard to sit down and write, but you can do it. I believe you have a story in you that is bigger than your fear. Good luck!
