I do. I consider both Malice and Ruri from Five Moons Rising to be butch characters.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Demon in the Machine! I had a blast writing it.
While I'm not planning a sequel as such, but I do plan to return to the world of Demon in the Machine. When that happens, we'll for sure get to look in on what Briar and Isabella are up to.

Inspiration comes in a couple of different forms for me. The first way is through "what if" questions. What ifs intrigue me and often serve as the basis for either a plot point, or a character. From there, I figure out how to work the plot point, or character into the larger story.
I also have an active dream life, which probably sounds kind of hinkty, but I remember my dreams and they tend to be very vivid. I've gotten ideas for characters and for scenarios from those. The basis for Jak Stowell's character in Depths of Blue (and the sequel novels) came from a dream I had.
Some ideas go nowhere, but others become more concrete story ideas. I'll probably work some ideas into other stories.

At the moment, I have one story that I'm actively writing on, and three other stories that I'm planning out for when I finish my current WIP.
My current novel is tentatively titled Five Moons Rising. It is a lesbian paranormal romance, but it's not filled with cuddly werewolves and vampires. The paranormal creatures are badass and dark. They aren't living companionably side-by-side with humans; they are the creatures of their nightmares.
Mary Alice "Malice" Nolan has been genetically altered and trained by the US government to take out rogue beasts. She's very good at her job, and she takes care to never bring it home with her to protect her mother and sister. However, she isn't around to protect her sister from the local werewolf pack when they seek vengeance for Malice's actions.
Krissy Helgeson is the beta of one of the local werewolf packs. She is the loyal second to her alpha and will stop at nothing to keep him safe. She and the alpha are betrayed and she is exiled from the pack when a lone wolf takes out her alpha. Injured and alone, she does what she can to survive.
Their paths cross when Malice kidnaps Krissy in a desperate attempt to save her sister's life.
Aside from that, I'm also working on a retelling of Snow White, wherein the Huntsman is the Huntress and is in love with the princess. I've also started on a story featuring a half-demon archivist and an insane woman who isn't so crazy after all.
Also in the hopper is a prequel to the On Deception's Edge trilogy, and I intend to write another series in that same universe.

Writer's block isn't my problem. I don't usually have any problems with not having writing ideas. My problem tends to be focusing on just one story at a time. Inevitably, while I'm working on one book, I'm noodling on the others I have on the back burner. I'll get excited about something I'm thinking about on the other ones and I have to stop myself from dropping the current story to go work on the new one.
To combat that urge, I have a little notebook that I carry around with me. I write down thoughts and plot points for my current work-in-progress, as well as the other things I'm working on. The simple act of writing it down helps solidify it in my mind, and it also gives me something to refer back to when I start on the next work.
