Beth Fantaskey Hi! Thanks for letting me know you've enjoyed my books over the years. (I can't believe how long it's been, either!) I drifted away from paranormal for awhile, but I have lately been drifting back. Are you friends with me on Facebook? I have some fun stuff going on there with Jess and Lucius, sort of gearing up to celebrate a decade of vampire royalty. Or you can check out my website at bethfantaskeyauthor.com. If you join my mailing list, you get a code to unlock a new Jess and Lucius chapter. (I won't spam you with mail! I hate that!) Beth
Beth Fantaskey Hi! I'm so glad you liked the books, and thanks for letting me know! I am considering writing a third book, as an interactive event with readers with contests, polls and giveaways. If you visit my website and sign up for my newsletter, you'll get a reply with a code to unlock the proposed first chapter. I hope you'll check it out!
Beth Fantaskey I have recently been developing what I hope will be a fun future/conclusion for the Jessica series. I'll make an announcement soon, so please watch here on Goodreads. You can also sign up for my newsletter at bethfantaskeyauthor.com, or meet up with me on Facebook. I usually post news there first. Thanks for adding me as a friend, and for the question. Sorry to be vague at this point!
Beth Fantaskey Hi, Barbara! I'm so glad you liked the books. I love YA because I think teens' emotions are heightened compared to adults'. First love, a first breakup, a betrayal by a friend - those things all seem more intense to me, when viewed through the eyes of a teenager. Young people don't have the perspective to say, "Well, this will probably happen a million times. I will soldier on." So, for example, when Jess mourns Lucius, it's completely raw. Plus, I love mining the funny aspects of teen life. That said, I do write mystery novels for adults under the name Bethany Blake. But, honestly, those stories are less intense than my teen fiction! As an adult, I appreciate escapist fun, too. Thanks for a great question!
