I loved the Jessica Books and loved Hyde. I am still to read a few but will get to them. I was curious if you have ever considered the adult market. I think Jessica crossed that line a little with all that wonderful tension. It was a a great plot and so different with your approach to vampires. Is YA your preference? If so, why?

Hi, Barbara! I'm so glad you liked the books. I love YA because I think teens' emotions are heightened compared to adults'. First love, a first breakup, a betrayal by a friend - those things all seem more intense to me, when viewed through the eyes of a teenager. Young people don't have the perspective to say, "Well, this will probably happen a million times. I will soldier on." So, for example, when Jess mourns Lucius, it's completely raw. Plus, I love mining the funny aspects of teen life. That said, I do write mystery novels for adults under the name Bethany Blake. But, honestly, those stories are less intense than my teen fiction! As an adult, I appreciate escapist fun, too. Thanks for a great question!

I e-mailed you years ago, close to 9 now, shortly after JGTDOTDS (my, that is long!) first came out. I wish I could remember what I asked you about! Sadly, that e-mail disappeared long ago. I have enjoyed following your work since then and love Jessica and Lucas. Do you think you will be going back to any more paranormal stories? (By that, I mean any new series on the way?)

I loved the Jessica Books and I have yet to read The Hyde one. But would you ever consider writing another Jessica book? Seeing as that was the first thing I read from you. And automatically wanted more. Or would you ever consider doing any more teen\YA books? Sense you're sooooo good. Please?
