Michael Forester Hi Marissa

It rather decided itself! My most recent author interview which you can read at

https://architectsofworldsafar.wordpr...

explains in further detail what happened when I started writing a short story as a thank you to a friend who had helped me with a problem. Dragonsong grew out of that. However, I'm delighted it did, as the book is close to unique and readers really seem to enjoy that it is different. I hope you enjoy it too. Would you be kind enough to post a review when you have read it please?

Many thanks

Michael

Michael Forester When I get stuck, I stop and walk away from what I'm doing, and I go off and do something else - preferably something that stimulates my unconscious mind to start working on the problem - take a shower, walk the dog, whatever. It usually oils the wheels. When I return to the keyboard (and for me it virtually always is a keyboard) I may have to backtrack to the point where I took the wrong turn, but I never throw anything away. It may have a place in something else I've not yet written.
Michael Forester The opportunity to create - to be a part of the never ending creative surge of the universe.
Michael Forester You have the inspiration, now make the perspiration!

Take a training - local authority creative writing classes are good for beginners.

Join a creative writing class and take constructive criticism on your own work, plus offer it to others on their work- both are excellent disciplines for developing your own.

Listen out for your own unique voice - it will start speaking to you from inside. And when it does, regardless of time or place, take out that pen and paper and get writing. Write anything - don't be afraid of writing rubbish - we all do it all the time. But when you have a huge great refuse heap in front of you, that's the time to start digging out the diamonds lurking quietly inside.

An the most important advice of all: write to please yourself. If your writing doesn't please you it's unlikely to please anyone else.
Michael Forester The trilogy I have described above. I also anticipate tow publications in 2016:

On 30th April - 'Dragonsong,' perhaps one of the most unusual fantasy works ever written - watch my web site for announcements - www.michaleforester.co.uk

Later in the year, a collection of short stories. More details will follow on the web site.
Michael Forester Usually by drawing from my unconscious. When I'm just waking in the morning, or by deliberately going into meditative trance and seeing what ideas come down. Equally good is walking in or driving around the New Forest - the place I love most in all the world.

I have found it's essential that I carry pen and note paper at all times. If I don't quickly write down the ideas they will disappear - as I have found many times to my cost.
Michael Forester I'm presently working on the third volume of a trilogy whilst volumes one and two are seeking an agent. You can read an extract from 'Vicious', the first of the three, on my website at www.michaelforester.co.uk.

The idea for the book came from two ideas that arose simultaneously - an aging punk rock groupie in love with dead punk rocker Sid Vicious, now expecting his reincarnation and a young woman believing she is pregnant with the second coming of the Messiah.

Both ideas explore the border territory between rational and irrational belief. But what would happen if they bumped into each other? What if the aging puck rock groupie believed the young girl to be the reincarnation of Vicious' original girlfriend Nancy Spungon?

The result was Vicious, very very vicious indeed...
