Dylan Callens I'm glad you like it, so far.

I'm not as far into yours as I'd like to be, but so far it's great! I think I'm going to enjoy the rest of it. :)
Dylan Callens Hi Scott,

It's kind of a pain to do if it's not on Goodreads as a book. You need to upload it somewhere online... it doesn't really matter where, just as long as it's accessible using html. Once the cover is online, you will have to use html tags to display the cover. It will look something like this:

"img src="http://www.whereverthepicis.com/image..." width="sizeyouwant" height="sizeyouwant" /"

You will need to replace the " at the beginning with < and the " at the end with > I tried to include them but it just went searching for an image. If you continue having problems, just PM me and I'll try to explain it a bit more. Looking forward to seeing the covers!

Thanks for the buy! I appreciate that!
Dylan Callens Hi Monika,

I'm currently finishing up Twisted Fairy Tales, which is a retelling of classic fairy tales in a modern context for adults. It should be out in a couple of weeks. I'm also working on a new full length novel called The Julian Calendar. It's still in the early stages.
Dylan Callens Bizarro, the comic strip by Dan Piraro, or DC's Bizarro?

I have only read one of Piraro's comic strips because I googled to see if there were other Bizarro things out there. I've read a little bit of DC's Bizarro but not too much. I'm bizarro enough, I think! :)
Dylan Callens The idea came in two parts. First, there was the horrible book that I wrote in university. There was this vignette where God was asked to perform a miracle but he said that he couldn't do it because there was too much paperwork. That idea hung in the back of my mind for a long time.

Then, about six years ago, I was teaching Nietzsche in a philosophy class. The phrase from the Madman's Parable came up, "God is dead." I started thinking what if Nietzsche was God's boss and he was out to fire God. He could stand up and deliver a different version of the line, "God is fired." I connected that back to the idea of paperwork, incorporating Heaven, and so on. In fact, it seemed like every time that I had a new idea that I wanted to include, there were these strange connections to other themes that I had already established. The ideas all came together in a really interesting way.
Dylan Callens I have always enjoyed writing. I made these little books for my class in grade four. I knew from that point on that I wanted to write. I actually wrote a book while in university. The only problem was that it was terrible.

So, I don't know how I get inspired, per se. It's just something that I want to do.
Dylan Callens I just released my first book, so most of my time is spent working on promotional stuff. But I have started to work on an episodic time-travel adventure. I don't have many details to give about it yet.
Dylan Callens Keep plugging away at everything. I'm an impatient person and want everything done now, but that's not the way that this game works. It's a marathon.

Also, start working on your social media campaign long before you release your work. If you're like me and new in the game, it takes a while to build your audience, so work on that early.
Dylan Callens I enjoy researching the most. While I'm researching, I get to learn all kinds of neat tidbits of information. I'm a real treasure trove of useless facts.
Dylan Callens I have a couple of deals that I deal with writer's block. My first option is to work out. I find that some of my best ideas come to me while I run.

The second option is to think about what I want to accomplish in a section of writing, then watch part of a movie that deals with the same topic. It gives me a couple ideas to work from, then I can continue creating.
