Great question. The biggest mystery in my life is what would have happened if I hadn't stopped playing music. Back in my early twenties I was in a indie rock band, unfortunately Illness forced me to end my music career. I often wonder what if???

Thank you for your interest. I was hoping for questions about my novels or writing, but I don't mind answering questions about my second passion. In Canada, there are two ways you can get your Red Seal Certification. One way is through an apprenticeship program after your college degree or alternatively, through the journeyman program where you must accumulate a certain amount of hours and techniques under a Certified Chef. The Kingdom of Grape actually started as a song. I'm a songwriter writer, and was tired of always writing about my personal life. All my songs were very personal. I wanted to try something totally different and write something completely fictional. From there, the story turned into a playwright and finally a novel. My song can be found on YouTube, just search for The Kingdom of Grape Act 1 and Act 2

The best advice I can give is to be proud of what you write and most important, finish. My biggest problem as a writer is contentment. I never seem to be happy and always want to improve my story. I need to take my own advice sometimes, it's hard.

For me, I love getting lost in a story. Writing can be an escape from any problems you may have, and take you somewhere new and exciting.

That's a tough one. Usually, what I find works best for me, is to step away for awhile. Taking some time away to get a new perspective, new experience and new inspiration. Writing is not a sprint, it's a marathon some times.
