E.A. Copen I don't have any planned for this year, as I have two more series I need to finish up first, and another two due to get started but I'd love to do more in the future!
E.A. Copen That's my intention. It's technically in the hands of the publisher and up to them if they want to sell them individually, but I'd like for them to be re-released individually, especially now that they've gotten a facelift.
E.A. Copen Yes! More are being recorded right now.
E.A. Copen Yes, absolutely! There are more in the works. The next 3 books should be available as audio sometime this year.
E.A. Copen At the moment, there aren't any plans to write more in that series. Dal O'Connor does have some small appearances coming up in the Judah Black universe, however. He'll be part of the 5th Judah Black book and possibly the 3rd or 4th Silver Bullet Chronicles (the first book of that is coming soon.) Dal may still have more stories to tell me. I just haven't heard them yet.
E.A. Copen Oh, that's definitely Robbie Fellows! A lot of people underestimate him and the role he plays in the world. He's equal parts dangerous and fabulous, always full of surprises. He was the character I never intended to write, but he muscled his way into the world anyway. Because of that, I don't know him as well as some of the others and I'm consistently surprised and delighted every time he jumps onto the page to do something new.
E.A. Copen That's a hard one! As far as romances go, I love it when characters don't waste time with a lot of back and forth and will-they-won't-they moments. If there's clear attraction, go for it already! That's one reason why the relationship between Anna and Charles Cornick in Patricia Briggs' Alpha and Omega series is my favorite.
The mostly off-page romance between Warren and Kyle in Briggs' Mercy Thompson series is a close second. If anything ever happened to break them up, I'd be so upset!
E.A. Copen I'd say it's being able to create whole new worlds with nothing but your words.
E.A. Copen The second and third books in this series. I'm also in the planning stages of a science fiction space opera novel.
E.A. Copen I participated in the International 3 Day Novel Writing Contest back in 2009. When I started, I had only a vague idea. I had just re-read Dracula and I was wondering how Van Hellsing knew so much about vampires. My very first draft was meant to answer that question. It was terrible and I didn't win the contest but I did wind up with this 7 years later. I'd call that a sort of win.
E.A. Copen Music! I can't write in silence.
E.A. Copen Remember that no man is an island. In the digital age, there's absolutely no reason not to get connected with other writers. Stop looking at them as competition. They're not. They're your co-workers.
E.A. Copen Write every day. Once it becomes routine, it's as natural as getting dressed or driving to work. You don't even think about it anymore. You just do it. If you're an author, writing is your job. An ER nurse doesn't go to work and say, "I don't feel inspired to treat patients today." Writers don't have the luxury of waiting for inspiration. We have to go and get it.
