Some time ago ago I wrote a novella entitled Across Enemy Space. I was happy with the result but shortly after completion I realized that that with a little more time and effort it could be made into a longer and hopefully much more enjoyable read.
So that's where I am at present. The day job and family still take up most of my time but I try to get a little done each day. I'll keep you posted.

I'm not a professional writer so it's generally not a problem for me. There is only a limited amount of time that I can spent at the keyboard and it's rarely long enough for me to run out of ideas. If I do get stuck, I find that red wine helps. White wine is almost as good. Beer just makes me want to pee.

The best advice I can give is to take your time, don't set deadlines and do the best job you possibly can. It sometimes pays to study how other authors write, which is not something I really thought about as a reader. There might be times when you think you'll never finish the project but stick at it and you'll get there in the end. I got such a buzz when I actually published on Amazon.
One last thought, it might be a good idea to consider how you will promote and market your book a good while before you publish. I never gave it a thought. Silly me...
