The idea for my most recent release A Heart in Remission came to me while I was in Afghanistan. While writing my first book I already knew the story of the second book. I watched as soldiers, sailors, and marines were killed in action and my heart went out to their families. Especially the husbands and wives they left behind. I wanted to tell the story of their struggles to find love again in a post loss world.

I started writing when I was in the desert of Afghanistan as an escape from the realities we faced everyday. I am inspired by my fans and their reactions to my work. My goal is for them to be immersed in the world and story that I write.

Currently, I have three works in progress. The working title for book 3 of the Doctor's of Atlanta is A Heart Reborn. This is the story of Dr. Sarah Buckley and Atlanta Braves All-Star third Baseman Harrison Cooper. It is a love story ten years in the making. Also, I am editing my second Sapphire Falls Novella Going to Get My Heart. This is the story of Harper's brother, Dustin, and his love Angela Heart. Finally, I am writing the fourth Doctors book working title The Hidden Heart. This will generate a spin-off small town series called Ashton Ferry debuting in 2018.

The best advice is to just write. Write what you feel and do it for yourself. Whether you ever publish the book or poem that you have inside of you just write. Don't let anyone tell you that you are not a writer, because the simple truth is we all have stories to tell.

I get to express my feelings. Sometimes I feel that writing is cathartic and I can clear my mind. The absolute best thing is inspiring feelings and desires in others. I love being able to take them on the emotional roller coaster ride.

Dealing with writer's block can be difficult. Sometimes I will take a few days off and just read, or in an extreme event, I will start a new piece until I am ready to return to what I was writing.
