Congratulations! I wonder why this book wasn’t written sooner? I know this is not a fair questions to ask you. Congratulations on your journey and success. I’m a soccer player that loves to run (with runners), so I know the quest for Boston is on many peoples' minds. I expect your book will sell well, and I’ve added it to my want to read list. I also think this will make a good gift for running friends.
Elizabeth Clor Thanks, Owen. I couldn't have written this book sooner because I was still experiencing the journey. But if you are asking why nobody has written a book like this, I think it's because it's difficult to articulate the mental aspects of running and all the emotions that go along with trying to achieve a goal. I've read quite a few blogs from people trying to qualify for Boston, but I haven't seen a single work that captures the full journey to Boston from start to finish. Happy reading (and running)!

Looking forward to reading your book in the near future. I do believe that we do have those mental roadblocks when it comes to meeting our full potential. However do you feel that there can be physical limitations such as just plain getting older and the legs just not cooperating the way you think they should be?
Elizabeth Clor Great question, Willie. There certainly are physical limitations for athletes in any sport, especially when it comes to aging. I think the key is to maximize whatever your physical potential is without your mind stopping you. When I'm in my 50's, I don't expect to be running at fast as I am now, but I hope that I'll be able to run to the fullest extent of my physical abilities at that time, and not get frustrated that I've slowed with age.

What are you currently working on?
Elizabeth Clor My main focus right now is connecting with people who may be interested in my book. I'll continue to update my running blog regularly.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Elizabeth Clor It was actually my husband's idea. I had always wanted to write a book and then he suggested I write one about my journey to the Boston Marathon. I learned so many things along the way and I really wanted to share them with other people.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Elizabeth Clor I don't try to fight it. I trust that ideas will come when they are meant to. If I write when I'm not truly inspired, then I think it's reflected in my work. I just accept that not all days are meant for writing.
