Candice Gilmer I cry, whine, paint the house, clean, scrub, patch things, reorganize, anything I can to take my mind off the blockage. Many times the answer comes to me when my brain isn't stressing over it.

Or, in some cases, I'll go work on another project, because I always have a couple of things going on at once.
Candice Gilmer A lot of my writer friends say it's being able to work in my pajamas, but I'm not that way. I couldn't be in my jammies all day. If I stayed in my pj's, I'd wind up in bed, watching Netflix all day long. :)

I think the best thing is probably being able to adjust my hours. Writing is not my only job, I also work as a hairdresser. As a result, my writing time is flexed around my hairdressing hours and taking care of my kids, which means I may be writing over coffee in the morning, or I'm writing after everyone goes to bed, it just depends on the day.

As long as I get writing done every day, I'm good. I don't care when I get it done, just that I do it.
Candice Gilmer Write EVERY SINGLE DAY. Seriously. Even if it's only for 30 minutes, and you only get a paragraph or two out. Just separate yourself from the world for a little while (no internet or phone) and go for it. You'll be surprised how much you can do in 30 minutes. Or an hour. Whatever you can get away with.
Candice Gilmer A fourth Guys an Godmothers Book, though it's more of a spin-off story, involving a secondary character from the original trilogy. Same world, of course, but just a little different take on it. Among other projects. :)
Candice Gilmer From my muse, of course. :)

Actually it's fairly true--where the ideas come from, I can't say. I've been inspired by a stick that looked like a gun, a sunset, many movies and actors (Current crush--Benedict Cumberbatch... Yep, I'm Sherlocked!), and just random pictures on the internet. So I can't say there's any one thing that inspires me. I just have to see it to feel it.
Candice Gilmer In Before His Eyes, (Guys and Godmothers #2, released Feb 2014) it's about Bruce, a photographer, someone who has that "eye" for seeing things. And I started to wonder, what would be the most frustrating type of woman to him? Why, the one who doesn't like her picture taken, of course. So I had to figure out why a woman would be against that, which started a whole coffee-filled manic brainstorming session.

And because I'm a nerd, both Bruce and Greta have a love of Steampunk. :)
