The best advice I ever received was 'write what you want to read.' Doing that prevents writers block- also knowing your craft and reading like crazy. It's a pretty cool thing that "researching" is just reading awesome books from amazing authors.
If anything, just get started. You can talk about ideas and wanting to write all you want, but just sit down and do it :)

Music! Honestly- music is the key for me. Each character I've written about has a theme song of sorts. Each book has it's own playlist and every song serves a purpose. My playlists have a wide range of genres too. The right song can help make a scene perfect. My latest obsession is Glass Animals newest album but my go to artist is One Republic.
