Elysia Lumen Strife There are no boxes of Twinkies left on the shelf. Covid restrictions have delayed shipping until next week.
(fictional! Not true... but there are some days with no Twinkies! And that is totally a horror show at my house!) haha
Elysia Lumen Strife Oh, if there was only one mystery... Life is full of them, isn't it? I'd have to pick the few deja vu dreams that occasionally equate to clairvoyance. I've always wondered if it was some level of repressed subconscious that just finished a puzzle my conscious mind hadn't solved yet. I'd love to study brain chemistry, human networking, and the effects of electrotherapy a little more in depth. Maybe it could make a fun sci-fi/cyberpunk novel with a few tech and socioeconomic twists.
Elysia Lumen Strife It's difficult to say I could give a recommendation to others, except that trying new things, meeting new people, seeing different parts of the world can introduce fresh concepts, textures, emotions, and visuals. I tend to be one of those "what if" people. I see something new and think, "how cool would it be if..." I spend a lot of time with my head in the clouds. I jot down the blips and as I love puzzles, I piece things together and eventually end up with something worth building from.
Elysia Lumen Strife Love what you do and don't get discouraged. The heart and soul you've put into it is what makes it so colorful and real. Without that, the fire is gone, and writer's block becomes a monster under the bed.
Elysia Lumen Strife I always write down the problem or question I have that's preventing me from continuing the story. Then I distract myself with something else for a few hours, a couple of days while I mull it over. Exercise helps reduce stress. Sometimes that's enough. Other times I need to work on another book or go explore the world, depending on how stuck I am. New experiences can give your aching brain muscle a rest. And then there's sleep. Just make sure you keep a journal beside you in case you have a eureka moment in the middle of the night. Don't forget a pencil. That's the worst.
When you return and see those questions you wrote down, it makes it easier to remember where you left off, and kick start the writing process again.
Elysia Lumen Strife Writing fiction doesn't really have any boundaries or constraints to speak of. I love experimenting with new ideas and twisting things into unpredictable paths.
Elysia Lumen Strife Lost Souls, the second book of the Infinite Spark Series, is what I'm cleaning up at the moment. But I have three more (unrelated) science fiction/fantasy books almost ready for edits.
Elysia Lumen Strife Stellar Fusion was originally a dream prompt. I'm a perpetual lucid dreamer and have kept a notebook by the bed for years just to help me sleep. Shortly after my husband and I married, I had this particularly vivid dream and when I woke up, I couldn't stop writing. The details weren't enough, weren't accurately depicting what I experienced. Four years later, Stellar Fusion was published. I couldn't be happier.
