A.E. Rayne Hi Trey

I don’t believe the romance side of things overshadows the plot or is overly explicit. The marriage is a starting conflict and an overarching theme, but one of many! It’s also a grand tale about a coming darkness, the various kingdoms’ responses to it and their conflicts with each other. Yes, there is love and romance because, as you say, it’s part of our lives, but I don’t consider it ’spicy’. Everyone has a different opinion and takeaway, of course, but that’s mine! I hope you do have a go at it, as it’s an intriguing, exciting world to immerse yourself in.

Thanks for the question,
Amy
A.E. Rayne Hi Dallandra
This is the order I wrote the books in and for me, the optimal way to enjoy them, but honestly... you can choose your own adventure!

THE FURYCK SAGA
1. Winter’s Fury
2. The Burning Sea
3. Night of the Shadow Moon
4. Hallow Wood
5. The Raven’s Warning
6. Vale of the Gods

7. King of Fate [prequel novella which links to The Lords of Alekka]

* * *

THE LORDS OF ALEKKA
8. Eye of the Wolf
9. Mark of the Hunter
10. Blood of the Raven
11. Heart of the King
12. Fury of the Queen [features The Furyck Saga characters]
13. Wrath of the Sun

* * *

FATE OF THE FURYCKS
[begins after Fury of the Queen]
14. The Shadow Isle
15. Tower of Blood and Flame
16. Home of the Hunted
17. Book 4 coming in December 2024

I hope that answers your question.

A.E. Rayne Hi Ann

Wow, that’s some impressive reading!

I’m actually just working on the pre-sale for Book 4 today! Hopefully, it will go live later this week (maybe next!) and have a release date of December 10. I’d love to churn them out quicker, but as you probably know, they’re quite involved and complicated beasts, so they take a while to pull together.

Thanks so much for your email.

Best wishes,

Amy
A.E. Rayne Hi Hana

I'm glad you enjoyed The Furyck Saga. Yes, the ending is very sad, and though I wrote it and chose it, it still always makes me cry, no matter how many times I read it. You’re not alone there!

My new series, The Lords of Alekka, is out now and Book Four is going on pre-sale this week with a November release date. It is set in Alekka, starting at the time The Furyck Saga ends. There is some crossover, and the odd Furyck Saga character will be making an appearance, though I can’t say who!

Very best wishes

Amy

A.E. Rayne Hi Sam

Thanks for the question!

With my first book, it was all just 'figure it out as you go along'. Now I have a better sense of how to prepare a more polished book. I edit my books myself and also design the covers, so I’m the only one who really gets to decide anything - which is the joy of self-publishing. But I would suggest that you find a group of people to read your book once you are happy with it yourself – An Advanced Readers Team. They will spot problems and mistakes if there are any lurking, and they can give you constructive feedback. You can do that going forward with your series by giving them an advanced copy in return for them reviewing each book. It helps to have a good number of reviews to draw more interest to your book when it’s starting out.

If you’re not a confident editor, then I would advise you get some professional help. Same with cover design. Both will tell a reader a lot about you and your book. The cover will draw them in and should match your genre (look on Amazon to survey the types of covers in your genre and what they have in common), but if you have a poorly edited book, that may turn them off from going any further.

And lastly, I would suggest that you look up authors who offer courses on self-publishing like Nick Stephenson and Mark Dawson. I have never done their actual courses but have watched many helpful webinars and videos from both men over the years, and they always offer loads of useful tips in their emails too.

I hope some of that helps, and I wish you heaps of luck!

Very best wishes

A.E. Rayne Hi Dawn

Thanks for getting in touch. I'm so glad you like my books. Hearing that never gets old!

I am well underway with book six, so all going well (fingers crossed!) look out for it in November.

Very best wishes,

Amy
A.E. Rayne Hi Tim! You should have that mid-2019. I’m starting to write it soon, and have forced myself not to let my mind wander to any possibilities yet, so I have no idea about most of what’s coming next. :-)
A.E. Rayne My advice would be that you don't need to wait to write a book. I kept thinking that I would need to be 'free' somehow, to find vast blocks of uninterrupted time in which to write. But the truth is, you can write a book in an hour or so a day, and despite being a very busy person, I made sure I set aside an hour each day. Those pages accumulate quickly, and before you know it, you have an actual book. Life's short. Begin!
A.E. Rayne The idea started in it's earliest form when I was doing my degree and was working on a project about the history of marriage. It seemed like a great idea for a story... how a strong woman would feel being forced into a marriage with someone she didn't even know. The idea grew and grew from there and became about much more than a marriage, but it was certainly the springboard upon which the characters of Jael and Eadmund were formed.
A.E. Rayne I'm currently working on part two of the Furyck Prophecy series.
