Happy New Year!!! Yes - there most certainly will be a part 6 of FG. Life got crazy with work and my Dad - and has stayed crazy. So I started writing another story, Coreless Cultivator, because I didn't the stress of real life to leak into FG. Plus, Coreless was more of an experiment and I could just play around in it. I've learned some things about myself. Like that I really enjoy writing in first person, not 3rd. And that I like writing about someone from our world. I can use our world references that way - Like big as a Bus. Anyway, life hasn't gotten better, so I think I just need to learn how to write in my new normal. Once I feel comfortable doing that, I'll be back in FG6. I've already got the whole book outlined and ready to go.

Yes! Once I get enough written, I'll start reading on YouTube again. I'm glad you liked it. :)
Right now, job and my personal life are draining all the creative energy out of me. (Dad had a fall and is now in assisted living. He's not taking to it well.) I'm very hopeful that this autumn will be a fresh beginning! I miss sitting down and writing while snuggling Bermuda.

Yes! For sure!
I'm up to 230K words right now and I'll probably split this into 2 books. (like I did the last one) I'm not as far in the novel as I'd like to be. The real world got in the way. :( But it is moving along!
I'll begin reading chapters on YouTube again this Sunday (8/6/23). Thanks for the encouragement!

Wow! You've read them 5 times!? That's awesome :)
I'm starting back reading the chapters aloud on YouTube on Aug 6th.
I got a bit overloaded for a few months there. My real job got super busy and I was trying to write even more - but that didn’t work out. Now, my regular job is back to normal and I’ve gotten back in the writing groove again.
Currently I have over 220K words so far - so a lot! This is another book I’m going to have to split into two. I’m feeling creative at the moment, though, so I’m just going to keep writing and not worry about publishing at the moment.
Thanks for checking in and I appreciate the encouragement!

(view spoiler)[In Gathering Mage, during the tournament it is started that empty-handed combat means NO ONE can use a weapon other than their fists of magic. Why then does Eugene summon his bow during his fight with Jason? (hide spoiler)]
Michael Taggart
Good question! Empty hand means that mages can't use physical real weapons in combat (Like a wand, staff, or magic sword). They can use magic, of course. Eugene and many of the other mages summon their magic in the form a weapon (like a bow, sword, etc). This is certainly permitted.
In Eugene's case specifically, his bow if made entirely of his own magic and so are his arrows. Those are okay to use in his match with Jason.

Wow! That was some good reading!
I'm caught up enough on book 5 to where I'm going to start reading the chapters on YouTube. I'm reading the first chapter this Sunday (2022-05-18)
This time I'm also posting the doc, so those who like to read instead of listen can follow along too.
My hope is that all the beta reader edits/finds will be done for each chapter as we go along and the book will be ready for final publishing much soon.

Thank you so much!! I'm very glad you enjoyed the characters and the humor. Book 5 is coming along and I'll be starting reading the chapters on YouTube again.
I appreciate the encouragement!

Yes!!! I'm reading chapters and putting them on Youtube.
Here is a link to the first chapter. https://youtu.be/tH5btX34Nes
I'm hoping that by putting out chapters - my goal will now be to get the next chapter done - instead of worrying about the whole book.

I'm working on the next book now! I don't have a working title yet - but deep into the Gathering and all the excitement that happens there. Jason has just learned about Morphous Points and how to use them to get Toilet Paper. Come to find out, everyone uses 'Freshness' charms - so there was no TP to be found in the Atayk Realm. :)
I don't know when the next book will be out as I'm terrible at estimating how long a scene will take. Some scenes I think will be long, but when I write it, it's only a few pages. Others go the opposite and take much longer than expected.
I'm working on it, though. Promise!

I'm glad you enjoyed the book!! It was a lot of fun to create the world and write it.
There was a LOT more that went into publishing the first book than I thought. (website, mailing list, the books front matter, back matter, KDP format and publish, advertising, etc). Fortunately, most of that is done and I'm now onto the next book.
The changes to the world and the characters has been thought up and outlined. I just finished scene 4 yesterday (titled Colonel Mustard in the Park) and I'm now working on scene 5 (titled All By Myself)
I don't have a good enough handle on timelines yet to tell you when it will be out, but I can tell you it's coming along!
