Sally Goldenbaum Hilary--thanks so much for sending this article. Ioved seeing the gorgeous photos of bandstands, and the interesting history! I don't know why I've become so fond of them. I imagine every small town having one. It reminds me of childhood and music, picnics and green grass. Thank you!
Sally Goldenbaum Gina, your comment about the seaside knitters has made my day (if 11 months late! Sadly I missed your post.)
The original decisions was because the rights to the quilting series were tied up with a small publisher, and we were looking for a larger publisher. To do that, my agent suggested starting a new series, which I was very happy to do because I had wanted to go to Cape Ann, home of the seaside knitters, and in writing the series I was able to go there every day. It's a lovely place to be. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and wonderful holiday. Sally
Sally Goldenbaum Laurianne (what a lovely name!)--
That is a good question. The quilting mysteries were re-edited this summer while I was in the middle of finishing a Seaside Mystery, and because Po and Nell sometimes remind me of one another, the mistake in names slipped out and both the proofreaders and I missed the error. I am so sorry. Thank you for asking. A happy holiday to you.
Sally
Sally Goldenbaum That is a good question. And one I am going to pass along to my agent. Thank you for asking and hopefully it may result in an audiobook!

Merry Christmas and wishes for a wonderful holiday.
Sally
Sally Goldenbaum Thank you for asking. I am in the (hopefully) finishing stages of Murder of a Different Stripe, which will be released next November. I hope you enjoy it!
Happy holidays to you.
Sally
Sally Goldenbaum Kendra, I feel absolutely terrible about this and have already contacted the publisher about it. You're right, it's a total goof and hopefully will be corrected in future printings. How it got by numerous proofreadings is puzzling, but it happens. Penny's name was/is Turner, and the mistake is clearly jarring to the reader. I hope it didn't ruin the book for you. Thank you for giving me a chance to apologize.
A happy holidays to you.
Sally
Sally Goldenbaum Sue, I just this minute saw your note. Please let me know ASAP if you haven't received it. (And even if you have. email is fastest: sgoldenbaum@gmail.com).
Thank you Sue, and please accept my apologies.
Warm wishes, Sally
Sally Goldenbaum Jean, thank you for the wonderful note! I love new readers (and a side note: Murder Wears Mittens, 1 2017 hardcover, will be released in paperback in August, 2018. Keep in touch!
Sally Goldenbaum Hmmm. There are so many places, so many worlds. But at the risk of not being adventurous, I love the world my seaside women live in. I love their town and the yarn shop Izzy owns, with the sea breeze coming in the back window, the beach a short walk away, the art colony around a bend. I would love to sit on Birdie's patio watching the town below wake up or go to sleep, and salute the boats as they make their way out to sea. I would love to be a fly on the wall in Nell's kitchen where so many conversations take place.
Sally Goldenbaum Hi JoAnne,
I am happy you asked that question because it gives me a chance to clarify what I know is confusing to some readers. Beginning with Murder Wears Mittens, the series is being published by a new publisher (Kensington Pubs). To indicate the new, fresh start, we changed the tag, adding the word 'society ' (a name a character in the latest book calls the knitters). And to indicate the seaside knitters new home, it's numbered as "1" in publishing lists. All that being said, it's the same characters, town, and a continued and deeper look into their lives and those of the townsfolk.
Again, thank you for asking and I hope you enjoy the new mystery. I think it's my favorite. Happy summer. Sally
Sally Goldenbaum I force myself to not believe in it. Some days it's very difficult to write, and sometimes that lasts for weeks. But if you stop writing during those times, books will not get written. So you sit down, stare at the scary, blank screen, and fill it with words, even ones that might have to be thrown out later.
Sally Goldenbaum I am working on Murder at Lambswool Farm, the 11th book in the Seaside Knitters Mystery Series. The knitters are involved in a new venture--a beautiful old farm that's been rehabbed into a picturesque setting, a barn that houses a state of the art kitchen, and old harvest tables at which diners enjoy the fruits of the land. When the town's family doctor dies at one of the farm events, the knitters become involved in finding the murderer.
Sally Goldenbaum Sadly, I don't always get inspired. I simply have to sit down and write or the book will never get finished. And somehow, in that process, ideas slip in, twists and turns and surprises that seem to sometimes come directly out of the sky.
