Hilary--thanks so much for sending this article. Ioved seeing the gorgeous photos of bandstands, and the interesting history! I don't know why I've become so fond of them. I imagine every small town having one. It reminds me of childhood and music, picnics and green grass. Thank you!

Sally, I am reading the 2nd Queen Bee mystery, A Thread of Darkness. It was mentioned that Po, Kate and Eleanor were sitting on the Endicott back porch and stated “In the early years of child rearing, the Endicott porch was a place that neighborhood moms gathered”. How are the characters in the Queen Bee series related to the Endicott’s of the Seaside Knitters?
