I had a little pet, my pet was a toad. Poor little toad got flattened in the road. The End - (my favorite story when I was a child. I can't take credit for it. I don't know who created, it but it always made me laugh.)

A lot of laughter. You don't have to read this book page to page. Just flip to the table of contents and pick the story that jumps out at you. I want readers to have fun, escape and discover why they sometimes get a crazy look back from a hospitality worker.

I step away. It's a simple thing to shift gears if you don't overthink it. Go for a walk, plant a veggie garden, go for a swim, watch a cartoon, or anything you love to do. I can be super OCD and it's hard for me not to touch everything ten times, but easy for me to think of another story that will lead me back to what I wanted to say. Distraction can be the key to finishing a thought. This may sound wrong to others, but it's the key for me.

I create the world in which, for a short time, you allow yourself to live in. The entire stage is created around you, allowing you to see, hear, and feel you are part of the story. My favorite compliment is when someone says, thank you. They felt as if they were sitting next to me during my crazy conversations and it allowed them laugh with me, instead of just reading about it. I lovingly call it my Rensverse and everyone is welcome to enter.

That's a hard question to answer but to name a few; take notes, write everything down, edit yourself at the end not during, ask for productive criticism not constructive criticism, understand that your perception of the material will not be everyone's perception, ask for advice, glean what you want to use from advice and above all - don't let others change your narrative, your voice or your story. They are your stories, stay true to them and tell them how you see them, however you see them.

It has always been my goal to finish a five part series titled "The Clifton Monroe Chronicles". The first three parts have been performed on New Orleans area stages. "The Case of the Scarlet G", The Case of the Murderous Mister" and "The Case of the Broadway Betty". The fourth part is finished and the fifth part it being written now, "The Case of the Sugar Cane Queen" parts 1 and 2. One day all five will be readily available for the world to enjoy. I'm also working on stories for the next "Creating a Concierge" book.

My father is the most amazing storyteller. I found that the older I got, I wanted to hear everything he had to say, before he is no longer with me. Ten years ago I started writing old-time radio plays because those are his favorite. I wanted him to enjoy the stories while sitting in the audience. After many years, I decided to take all that I had learned and combine my skills into a book of my own fashion using my skills as a playwright and my version of a book format.

I took a look at my life, past and present and realized my book was right in front of me. I just needed to write it down. The wonderful and the awful people I meet at my concierge services desk are more than enough material for volumes of books. The funny conversations, the wacky characters, what I see in my head, what I'm required to say to a guest as opposed to what I wanted to say. I realized that I'm on the best stage in the world and I should share my internal laughter with others to enjoy.
