I was vacationing for 4 days with my sisters-in-law in Montenegro last summer. Just us gals with no husbands and kids. Montenegro is just across the Adriatic Sea from the Italian boot, and something happened in one of the beautiful old cities we toured which struck me immediately with a story idea. A few months later I sat down and started writing. The scene that hit me with inspiration is in the book :)

Inspiration usually just hits me when I'm in a certain place like the book I am currently writing, or when I see something or hear a conversation. It's like a whole scene or story or a character just writes itself in my head and I feel the urge to sit down and write it. From there it usually takes its own direction and becomes something else.

I am about to finish writing my second novel. It's completely different than my first in setting and characters and I enjoy writing it.

I let it wash over me and try not to stress out. It usually passes after some time. I love driving. Driving helps clear my mind and usually helps unblocking me.
